Anybody industry people here gotten a chance to handle/fish the new Okuma Citrix or Komodo in their higher capacity form? I was reading up on them a bit and they look pretty cool, plus I already have a regular Citrix and Helios which both work well.

Reason I'm asking is because I had been looking at getting a new Lexa but thought the Okumas may be worth waiting for (September availability I believe)

The Lexa is such an awesome reel out of the box and you can get them off ebay for 145$ nib delivered. I have original calcutta, 2 te 400's, a pluton and my lexa. The lexa is by far my favorite reel right now, I have caught giant stripers, pike and decent lm with ease. It also cast sofa king far.

Just my .02$

I love my Okuma Guide Series rods but I'm a bit iffy on their reels (the last one I owned was a Serrano). I have not used the latest versions but the ones I have used in the past have been feature-rich but not quite up to the production quality of a Shimano or Daiwa. Until they prove they can manufacture to the same tolerances, I personally plan to avoid them.

The Lexa 300 is such a smokin' deal at a buck fifty shipped that I just don't understand why anyone would take a chance with any other reel in that price range.
