brooks19604
I have a couple baits that are badly beaten up and want to paint a couple solid black for night fishing. I was just going to use black spray paint but dont know what to use as a protective coat. And if anyone knows any paint that will work better than spray paint i would greatly appreciate any suggestions.
Top Ramen
I think Dave/flaswimbaiter has rattle-canned a couple of his baits. You might want to message him to see how it worked out.

Check the Flipside section to see how it worked out Ive heard of a lot of people using auto clear coat with no issues.

Bassindaily
U should do primer then a few coats of paint and u don't have to put clear coat but u can ,make sure to use a non water based clear coat and do a few coats but don't be heavy with it or it will drip
reelfish
If you want to seal use Devcon 2-ton expoxy. You can also thin it w/ alcohol and brush it on. I have heard the fast 5 min stuff causes yellowing, but I cannot confirm. Check out you tube.
flaswimbaiter
I have tried all types of paints and techniques, none of which worked. Once I have the money and time I will be buying an airbrush. As far as beat up baits go, I get just as many bites on those as new ones.
