I had a big 20lb class fish on Friday literally tear the hook off a split ring on a Savage Glide. Drag must of been a lil too tight...Doh!! Swapped out for Owner hardware that night. Back out the next day and got my redemption. Good Year 71 Posted July 18, 2016 Report Share Posted July 18, 2016 I had the same experience maybe five years back. Bruiser Striper hit center on a large plug, dove so hard I panicked and hamfist the drag. Center hook was gone, split ring still dangling. For what it's worth, I've been swapping to Owner for years but figured why bother just this once given size of provided hardware. Big mistake, never to be repeated. Props on your redemption.
