Fly in pike trip

Quick question to those that fish for them regularly. I'll be up in Canada specifically a couple hundred miles northeast of red Lake where the only fish will be walleye and pike. There is a weight limit of 500lbs per person and I plan on taking two spinning rods and two or three swimbait rods ranging from 1oz-12oz for swimbaits/spinners/buck tails etc. I am 1/3 the past three trips with swimbaits the last on being on a modified islide that I could suspend at the weed lines. The lodge has simple boats Lund with 15hp johnson motors and we have to bring in all our food so my selection has to be fairly narrow but a 50" pike still eludes me and I'm determined to get one this trip.

I'm looking for any help as far as what would be the things you would take if you had any choice plus any suggestions on travel gps/fishfinder or other gear. Any help would be appreciated since there is no guide for the lake system we fish and it is a lot of water to cover in 9 days.

I have time to acquire certain lures gear etc as we don't leave for 6 weeks or so. Thank you so much in advance. If you want to know the exact spot shoot me a pm as I don't think I can name the lodge for advertising purposes etc. Thanks

Jared

I have those. I was hoping to get brands of double cowgirls, large spinnerbaits, or a site with info considering a medusa is what goes by as a swimbait on most of the musky shops. Maybe I will try a different board as I'm not sure what the right questions to ask are.

I'll need a 9"-12" lorance or garmin/hummingbird with lake view maps I'm sure and was hoping to get info on those as well considering its a fly in.

Thank you for the reply though.

Sorry I couldn't be more help. I'm way south of that in Ontario and fish mostly bass. Musky shops, even online, would be a good spot to grab double cowgirls etc.

I don't have a Lowrance unit anymore but the discontinued 'Hotmaps Premium Canada Lake Maps' had ok coverage in the Red Lake/Thunder Bay area. I'm running a Helix 5 DI on my small boat and think downscan would be really helpful up there for pike. Navionics gold card might be worth a look.

Buck tails, double cow girls, large chatterbaits, medusa, bulldogs and whopper plopper 190s.  Honestly, i wouldn't throw any of your really expensive bass swimbaits at them as it will just get beat up to hell.  My PB musky is 46.5" on a Deps 175 and he did some damage to it that I've repaired.  A pike is only going to be worse.

Savage gear stuff would be good as it is relatively inexpensive bigger bait items and those dudes catch monsters across the way in Europe.  Hope you catch a monster! Report back from your trip.
