Fantastic reel. I have nothing bad to say about it. If you're not chucking huge baits, it's a great small swimbait/glidebait reel. Very smooth, good drag, casts a like a dream. I have one and wouldn't hesitate to buy another. Baits I throw on that reel include the following: S waver, Shine glide, G2 cracker, mini Slammer, BBZ rat, 68 hudd, Gantarel, Gillroid. Matches up well with a Dobyns Fury 795 or a Powell Inferno 765. Both are great rods for the smaller baits and balance well with that reel. Buy with confidence.

I also have one and it's paired with the Dobyns Fury 795...It's a fantastic reel for smaller swimbaits, I have chucked baits up to 4 oz and it does it without any problems...I own (7) of the regular Tatula's and have for a couple years now and they have been a fan reel...I used to be a Shimano guy with my conventional gear but made a switch and am very happy with them...The HD is a fantastic reel...

Just picked up the same reel, paired mine up with a Daiwa DX swimbait MH rod. Now im thinking i should have went dobyns. Did i make a huge mistake? Lookin to throw a bull gill, Gantia, and Gantarel.

I can't speak to the DX but I have my tatula on a fury 795 and it's great up to ~4oz baits. A bit too soft of a tip for jig hook baits unless running braid in my opinion.

I have this same set up and it's awesome. The Daiwa DX swimbait rods are great. I just spent the weekend throwing a hard gill and El Raton...great set up for smaller baits like those.
