jhoozie1 Posted November 30, 2016 Report Share Posted November 30, 2016 Went to the lake on Black Friday with my cousin and we had more of a learning and not catching day. This was the only bite all day and it came about halfway through the day ~1PM. Got to the lake around 7am. Air temps in the 50s. Water clarity 8-10' (?) Lake is stocked with trout and has dense weeds throughout the lake along the bottom. About 12PM. We saw fish busting the surface on a school of small shad so we downsized baits for a bit to try and get them to hit, but with no avail. Moved across the lake to where we saw them chasing more shad and I went back to big baits. Threw the punker a few times with nothing until finally big momma exploded on the bait way out in the middle. Prevented her from jumping and got her in smoothly. 8lbs. 2oz. both times on the scale. Fished a couple more hours with no luck. Guide Select XH Abu Revo Beast 20lb.
