Lake Texoma released all her fury on us over the weekend. This lake is so big there are areas you cannot see the other side. My 24volt 70lb thrust Trolling motor was on onehundo from the start. The sixteen foot reborn Tracker was put to the test.You can pretty much ski behind me on calm days. Over powered yes but its there when you need it. When you played out in your mind what your going to do on tournament weekend and you have to make a BIDNESS decision on which way your going roll. Sometimes it works out in your favor. Sometimes it doesn't. My plan was sticking Green fat girls off points and isolated cover in the area. When that bite shut off on Friday I had to do something I have very little experience with. " FIND Smallies " Yes Smallmouth in Texas. There is a good community of smallies at Texoma just never had to fish for them. Scrambling around the boat trying to put something together, A-Rig was first choice to stay with the swimbait motto. Hog Farmer 5 Blade Duece is one of my favorites for Largemouth with 3:16 Minnows trailing. That did the trick but they would shut off quick. Never could get them to fire consistently. Then I remembered that Mickey had some real small 3:16 Rising Son on a Hog Farmer T-Spin Hybrid to test out and that was the trick they were digging this for the weekend and saved my bacon from a BIG FAT O.
