Skipped DD went to teener... I think

Went out today and stuck an absolute giant. I started out the day by wading in to grab my snagged 250. Drenched completely up to my neck, I continued on hoping for a bite. May I also point out it was pouring rain.  I fished halfway around the lake, with no bites and was convinced that was how my day would end. I pulled up to a little point and made a cast, and worked my bait all the way to shore. About a foot of the bank i watch as a nine runs out and smokes my 250. I set the hook but inevitably lost her due to my hook bending out. Pissed,I continued down the bank, still completely soaked may I add. I then decide to make a couple more casts next to the dam. First cast and I hook into something, while i could tell it was a nice one i wasn't sure how big .It was until I saw her come up and wobble around trying to throw my OG 250 that i knew she was a giant. I called for my friend, who jumped in the water and landed her with no problems. I knew it was my Pb for sure but unfortunately I had left my scale at the boat. So i was only able to get measurements. She was 29 inches long with a 19 inch girth. I put it into a couple fish calculators and they went between 13 and 15 pounds. I hope you guys can help me get a fair weight based on the pictures. I must say, having never caught a DD it was nice to catch what I'm almost certain is a teener. Thank for all the support SU.

Nice fish man, fish calculators are not accurate, probably it doesn't account how dense a fish maybe, don't know how to explain it. But I can give you this, 13 lb 4oz fish at 28 3/4" x 20.5". That was my fish I caught year in a half ago. Also I know a guy who caught a 13lb 12oz fish at 27 1/2" x 21 1/4". Look at Working Class Zero instagram lots of measurements in there of fish weight lenght and girth.

All in all that is a very big fish definitely at least 11 lbs maybe 12 congrats, great catch on pouring rain.

That is a beast.  One thing that makes it tougher to guess the weight is that you are holding it in the very common "straight arms toward the camera" pose.  Thats pretty natural - lots of guys do it and it makes the fish look bigger but its also tough to get an accurate picture of the size when you do that.  If you hold the fish closer to your body its a lot easier to judge the true size.

All in all its still a BEAST.  Congrats.
