Hhunn
My first ever Bowfin. He hit my bait twice and then inhaled it. First fish on my Imakatsu Gillpop. marc626, blackdynamite, yev14 and 5 others
HelpMePickABobber
Nice one. From the ones I've caught I've noticed that they'll often nibble a few times before slamming it. Almost like they're trying to wound it or slow it down before committing. Hhunn

yev14
Nice fish. Those Bowfin are savage. Hooked one on a wake bait a few years ago, jumped numerous times, under the boat...insane. Hhunn

blackdynamite
Good work! There is a tender place in my heart for so called "trash fish" that hit swim baits... Bowfin, gar, etc- love them all! Hhunn
HaterBait
I moved to Louisiana from so cal a few years ago and have caught a few. They fight like crazy. The cajuns call them "shoe pigs" 😂 I thought that was so funny.
bassing305
27 inches long. He was gill hooked so my priority was making sure it survived. 27 inches long is a very nice bowfin. A 28 inch or better bowfin is a citation sized one in Florida and anything over 30 inches is a trophy sized one anywhere bowfin are found.
