Weekend summertime glide bait smallies

I haven't been fishing all that much recently due to poor conditions and work. I was able to get a weekend off to go smallmouth fishing. My friend told me the bite had turned off a few days prior to arriving (just my luck).

So, to start off, my friend had snapped off his deps 175 earlier that week and asked if he could borrow mine. I give him my bait, although I was looking forward to fishing it. We head out the first day I get there in the afternoon, nothing in the boat for the first 3 hours, just some good hits and such on my deps that my friend is using. I was alternating between an 8" TT and a crank down bait. Around 8 pm, my friend gets 3 small fish on the deps off of 3 consecutive laydowns. I know I don't have another smaller glide so I ask my friend what he's got, I go through his box and find a DRT tiny klash, take the lip out and flip the tail around, and I started fishing. A couple casts later I get my first fish, it's a dink but something sorta clicked. We head over to the other side of the lake and we start fishing, I get bit on the end of a laydown and finally boat a good fish. Around 4.5lbs. We keep fishing that evening but nothing big and pack it in.

The next day we head to a different lake, I'm fishing the klash and he's on the deps. We both got some fish, I pulled two 4+ and my friend got some smaller ones.

Final day, we go back to the lake we started at, and start fishing weedbeds, see some huge followers but no commits. Later in the afternoon we get a double header, me with the klash my friend on a crank down. We got a couple more fish but nothing huge. We also had some major truck issues but we pulled through.
