The Reel McCoy
What's up guys, trying to decide if I should buy a black or white rising son? I want the bottom hook for night fishing and I've read about guys having success with both colors at night. Appreciate any input, and maybe you guys can recommend an even better color. Already searched the threads sorry if I missed a similar topic. Thanks! Willluvstafish
Top Ramen
I don't believe color is as important at night as people think it is. I know a lot of folks will tell you black is best because it supposedly provides a better silhouette but the reality is that baitfish don't change color at night. As weird as it sounds, my best producing color for Rising Sons at night has been pink. I couldn't even begin to explain why it works. evilcatfish, fishinpunk, yev14 and 5 others

yev14
For me it depends on the moon. If the Moon is full or bright I start with White. If the moon is dark I start with black or purple -- not just with Rising Sons but anything. Example -- the Purple Nitro Slammer is really good at night especially under a dark moon. If this doesn't work I switch to the "opposite" color -- ie White on a dark night, or black under a bright moon. As for Top rRmen's comment I love Pink lures anytime, no idea why they work but they do... just my 2 cents bigpoppabass and The Reel McCoy

The fish are well aware of what comes into their area, regardless of color.
