Moleman
Now I know we don't particularly like ABT, but he just released a new glide bait with a sick video of him using it too. The bait's hook placement is interesting as he has hook directly on the nose and tail, and honestly made me consider if this is a glide bait i should pick up. Anyways, check out the video. Id love to hear opinions about the bait.
danthefisherman
Man, I was gonna make that hook configuration no kidding... except rather mount the front hook on the chin and allow the hooks to swing freely. Hopefully that doesn't fall under his patent or I will feel very lame "copying" ABT haha. Honestly though it makes a lot of sense with so many fish short striking. I was always surprised that not many baits we're rigged this way. Also noticed all the fish were spots, although I'm not really sure if this plays a significant difference compared with largies
biggfeast
Idk... I don't really like the hook being that close to the line tie on a hard bait. Never fished it so I'm just going off of speculation, but if a big girl is hooked on it and thrashing, feel like it could get caught up on the line quite easily with all 3 prongs sticking out. Maybe not, but I like less failure modes if possible. I know BB Rig has the hook quite close to the line tie, but since it's the only hook and on top, I feel like the two prongs sticking up generally stick the fish good and avoid that problem. As for the rear hook, I think CL8 has a bait with a hook in the tail section as well. Anywho, if you try it out I do hope you have immense success IsaacM619
BigSlant
I believe cl8 and a few others have tail eyes for hooks.. HuddMan101 and biggfeast
waynem
How about this one from the 1950s? Six trebles on a 3.5" bait. Try lipping a fish with that in its mouth. danthefisherman, Primus, Willluvstafish and 7 others

Ceaser
The fish I miss on glides always Tbone the bait right at the joint. Thats where most of my fish that miss, hit the bait that Ive noticed. And whats the patent for? Hanging a hook on the line tie? biggfeast

I have dinks nip the tail, but the good fish I miss grabbed it right at the joint.
Moleman
Yeah, to be fair I think this bait is probably more of a spot bait. Ik that when I caught my PB she had the bait T boned in her mouth. I guess its more of a trade off.

MA Frog Man
With that front treble there's going to be a lot of retying. Might get caught alot if you're using braid. Guys in the video seemed to be throwing mono or flouro.
R8R
i have seen big fish eat a swimbait on top of the head and drive it below the water, i have seen this at least 4 times and tje fish miss the hooks every single time. is it a good idea who knows but i do not support ABT anyway so dont matter to me. Rogervang
I imagine it have a lot of problem getting caught up with the line. Espically if the bait helicopter. I myself am not a fan of it, but if it works for them then good I guess.
hookedup
I think it's a good idea. I had a day that every fish in the lake was hitting the deps but they were all nipping at the tail. I later added a stinger to the tail, doesn't hurt carrying a bait like that around with you.
