danthefisherman
Hello SU! I'm realizing that I should probably invest in some proper safety gear with all the chemicals and sawdust that I am handling so I don't end up with lung problems haha. Looking for a quality and affordable respirator that will last and have no clue what model will best provide the necessary protection for what do. Any pointers would be very much appreciated. Here's what I'm looking at right now. I was wondering if any of you have experience with these two models or have another as a suggestion. Thanks guys! fishinpunk
Dan, I have the 30$ mask ( I think, or very similar). I bought it for spraying nitrocellulose on a guitar. The stuff is very toxic without the mask, with it I could barely notice the smell. For dust it will be more than adequate. surfk9 and danthefisherman

Deltaman
Yup. The 3m mask is the one I have. You need a niosh level filter for the clearcoats and stuff so make sure the filter that comes with it is not only for dust but also for chemicals. danthefisherman

chang127
http://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-us/all-3m-products/~/3M-Full-Facepiece-Reusable-Respirator-6800-Medium-4-EA-Case?N=5002385+8709322+8711405+8720539+3294780256&rt=rud I use the full face when dealing with chemicals that have solvents in them. It also helps protects your eyes from not only debree but chemical vapors that can enter the mucous membranes in your eyes. It uses the same cartrdges as the half mask 6200 series and is way more comfortable to wear for longer periods of time. It's more expensive but to me it is just a small price to pay for the well being and longevity of your health. danthefisherman
