Mountainryan Posted September 3, 2017 Report Share Posted September 3, 2017 Made it out for a dawn patrol today, after moving and switching baits I threw on the cranking baby muskrat. Casted past a small lily pad patch and got hammered by this 4.9 that jumped off the scale 3 times (released healthy). Moved to another area looking for pads and had some guys on their dock freak when they saw the baby possum "look at that fecking thing!" Made another long cast at a solo pad patch and this chunk slammed it while the guys watched they were hooting and yelling, got the fish in the boat and she almost flipped out. Stupidly I put my hand out and wack! She threw that 2/0 through my thumb. I'm all stuck in the net, holding this fish and the guys come to help, I tell them forget the hook help me weigh her! They laught and said I was crazy. She was 5 but moved when I took the photo. (I'm still hooked in both of these) smashed the barb and pulled it out. Forgive the SU tourney code from 2 months ago lol and the sideways pics.
