BrhodesBassin
My 1st shot at making a 2 piece mold and a line through as well. A little worried the tail is too flimsy for the paddle and it will twist more then it kicks but all in all I'm pretty happy with how it came out porkmeatballs and Craig

BrhodesBassin
It didn't pass lol I'm not sure If the weight isn't centered or if the weight isn't big enough but it just corkscrews through the water. There's gonna be some tweaking needed for this one Edited September 5, 2017 by BrhodesBassin
BrhodesBassin
So this thing has a wild side to side roll to it and I am stuck on how to remedy this. I don't mind some roll to it but this thing goes flat on one side to the other. I doubled the weight and that didn't fix it so now I'm going to redo my mold to make sure the weight is centered. Does anyone have any insight on what else could be causing it? Also I was thinking about moving the weight lower in the bait Edited September 10, 2017 by BrhodesBassin
danthefisherman
Also I was thinking about moving the weight lower in the bait I think this is the key. If there's only weight in the head then the body is free to roll however it pleases. I once tried making a line thru by sticking an egg sinker into the head of a Sick Fish and the thing rolled if I didn't have a heavy enough hook hanging off the bottom to keep the belly down. Is the harness a store-bought or homemade? Maybe you could try suspending weight further back from the head via wire attached to the harness somehow... Hope you find a solution, the bait looks good! There is no harness I use 1/4oz inserts. Or is that considered the harness?
BrhodesBassin
I messed around with tail shapes and I think I have solved it. These were the results 1. A skinnier tail took the roll away but also left alot of tail twist 2.a shorter tail took away the roll and left lots of kick 3. A combination of skinnier and shorter is the ultimate remedy, almost no twist and very little roll with plenty of kick and a slow retrieve will still get plenty of action. danthefisherman and porkmeatballs
