Huddleston trout gill mod +

Hey SU, as hud season fast approaches it got my wheels turning, I like the standard hudd (or any bait) gill mod but it didn't mimic a bleeding fish. So here is my take. Did the mod and bought some standard fluffy red feathers. Got some longer pieces and super glued to the gills. Gives a very fluid moving "stringy" look like congealed blood. Simple and cheap, we will see if it makes any difference but it's nice to look at!post-29121-0-19899800-1505750261_thumb.jpgpost-29121-0-01301400-1505750371_thumb.jpgpost-29121-0-67913000-1505750385_thumb.jpg

Cool idea Ryan! Just a heads up if you didn't know already. The dye on those feathers can very well bleed color on/into your baits. So long as you allow them to dry before storing you should be okay. I tie my own Marabou bucktails and have had the dye bleed into the clear coat of a wooden lure.
