Mountainryan
Hey SU, as hud season fast approaches it got my wheels turning, I like the standard hudd (or any bait) gill mod but it didn't mimic a bleeding fish. So here is my take. Did the mod and bought some standard fluffy red feathers. Got some longer pieces and super glued to the gills. Gives a very fluid moving "stringy" look like congealed blood. Simple and cheap, we will see if it makes any difference but it's nice to look at! surfk9 and Zigtherat

fishinpunk
Cool idea Ryan! Just a heads up if you didn't know already. The dye on those feathers can very well bleed color on/into your baits. So long as you allow them to dry before storing you should be okay. I tie my own Marabou bucktails and have had the dye bleed into the clear coat of a wooden lure. azfisher and Deltaman
