FishEastCarolina
Do any of you guys dress your trebles on rat baits. I tie flys and could see how putting some sort of fluffy feathers or some bucktail on the bell ttrebles on a rat could help hide them and add some realism. Do you think it would change the action at all? I love throwing my G2 shellcracker as well and noticed another popular bait the gantrel has dressed hooks. Does it make a difference on these style baits?
Zealandhunter
Ceasar posted a whole thing on rats earlier today and said that he likes feathers on the back hooks to represent feet. http://swimbaitunderground.com/forums/index.php?/topic/43961-rat-baits/ Edited September 26, 2017 by Zealandhunter drewmoniz
Ceaser
Bucktail and heavier dressing will def slow the action, but that doesnt mean its a bad thing. I have a bait I think swims like hell, I hate the action, but the fish smoke it. So sometimes you just gotta give it a chance i think. basskickinrednick
