FayarCustoms
What's up SU, I need some help. Almost been a years since I started swimbait fishing and I decided to get into the rat game. Have been watching the black market for a super torn up rat for cheep but in the meantime I decided to make my own. I have tried several times, both single and double jointed lures but can't get them to swim for the life of me, anyone else had this problem? They just drag straight across the surface with no swim. Thanks for the help. -Lou

danthefisherman
Did you put a lip on it? Also, how is the tail attached to the body?
danthefisherman
Just checked your instagram account for photos...maybe try installing a larger lip in proportion to the size of the lure. Making the lip wider at the tip rather than uniform throughout might help too.

massbass10
if you want it wo really crawl put a lip on it if it dosen't have one already. You can cup the lip at different angls for swimming depth. The closer to 90 degrees the shallower it will dive, the steeper the angle the deeper it will swim
Rogervang
Weight placement plays a big role. I had that same problem years ago and I was drilling the weight slot too far up to twords the center of the body. Keep the weight low. You want the bait to roll. Play around with different shape of bills too. Good luck and have fun.
Nolan Aker
Add weight close behind the lip, and close to the joint in the second piece. Craig
