Question for rod builders

Hey guys, I'm starting to wrap rods but there is not much info on swimbait rods. Got an 8' mhx 967 blank for 3-8 oz blanks. Alps seat. Eva split grips. Here is my problem: no info on guide size. Mudhole set me up with a kit but the guide size are pretty much micro. They didn't list sized and when I found some info online I ordered the following guide set fuji k (2) #6 double foot, (2) #5, (7) #5 large base single foots to the top with an 8ring fuji k top. These were ordered sight unseen and when they arrived they are just as small. I trust fuji to be strong enough but will these be too small for this application? I usually fish 65lb braid. Any technical help would be appreciated. Tight lines

A lot of the high end megabass rods that are rated for heavy applications have small guides.  Most use double foot to include the steez XBD and the megabass SRD.  Depending on if you plan to run braid to leader will determine how big of ring you need.  I love small guides and i fish mostly with HYB or CXX mainline right to lure.  Knowing what knot your using and what size of lines will help a lot.  Might even tie a few and use a caliper or mic to get the size of your knot would be the best...

The smallest knot I've found for braid to leader is the FG or GT knot.  Even with that you will want somewhat bigger diameter guides.  If you're running straight braid small guides won't be a problem, but make sure they are solid in case you get a wrap-around on the cast.
