It's worth it. Lot's of overt information but even more you can learn by really watching them fish -- casting angles, retrieve speeds, etc. There is some information that I feel is kind of out-dated (how they rig Hudds and recommending CXX) but 99% of it is just as relevant as the day they filmed it.

Not really. I generally use co-poly (P-Line PF Original or Izorline XXX) or flouro (Sunline Sniper FC) if I'm only fishing sinking baits. The CXX seems to absorb water or something if I'm fishing all day and becomes less and less manageable. By the end of the day it's like my spool has an afro. Just don't like it.

 

It's subjective though; there are folks on here that love CXX.

CXX and braid is all I've been using since I started out and was just curious if there was something wrong with it. You're definitely right about it absorbing water though
