Tinos240 Posted December 21, 2017 Report Share Posted December 21, 2017 So i went home for the holidays and like usual took some time out early to hit my lake, pulled up on the lake at about 6am and its just flat like glass, my buddy is already being negative, it was about 35+ degrees out, me and my buddy walked to our usual spot and he says "what the f*** are we doin out here" he hates the cold lol, so we chuck and wind for a couple hours, i hear a splash under the bridge and go investigate, had my 250 tied on so i throw between the pilars and start my retrieve, pump, slide, pump,slide... at about 3 ft of water i see 3 dinks follow me in, i got to 1 ft of water and stopped the bait, had all 3 just pointing at it as it slowly fell, one of em nutted up and just smacks the head of the bait, then there gone, we both started disecting the area, 30 minutes pass and nothing, my buddy is like lets call it, i said one more cast, i came out an just hail maryed on the lake toward the deep, let the bait drop and then started my retreive pump, slide, pump, slide, the bait was fifteen ft out and pump, slide, pump and then no slide, i swept my rod and thought i was hung, reeled up and i see the fish come out of the water like a pitt bull shaking its head, i stepped back rod tip up and kept the head up and out of the heavy grass and called to my buddy "grab it!" He lunges for it and grabbed her, heart pounding and hands shaking i picked it up and the hook had a 1/4inch of skin on the top of the bottom lip, i was like "o' sh**", the hook came off almost effortlessly, i could have easily lost her if she went down in the thick grass along the bank, took some pics weighed and measused and she was gone in an instant, with everthing stacked against you you gotta keep grindin....
