chevro1et
I'm weighing options for an 8" soft paddletail to be fished near the bottom or up into the mid water column. I'm pretty set on a Megabass Magdraft, but also considering an Osprey Talon or Rago BV3D. Lemme know what you guys have had good or poor experiences with, and where your confidence lies. MaineBassin
What about an 8" hudd or real prey trout/shiner? chevro1et
Bassmann86
If I’m working the bottom I don’t want a bait the has hooks on the bottom like the magdraft unless you do the weedless mod to it. I would go with a hudd, baitsmith Mag, trash fish, battles shad chevro1et and alarios15
northeast_trev
Rof 12 Huddy for bottom work in 20ish fow Rof 16 for anything deeper than that chevro1et and alarios15

MaineBassin
The Huddleston is the (arguably) bottom crawling big bass lure. Could go custom. I think if you did a poll most would choose the hudd over Magdaft. Def don't want bottom hooks for the bottom. Oliver ngy has a video of replacing the stock hook with a big owner beast if you go the Magdaft route. If your budget is set at the $30 ballpark I would go hudd or 10" Savage gear trout. The 10" Savage gear is around 6 ounces so you will need the appropriate gear to throw it. chevro1et
bdpettit
For paddletails, I like the Scottsboro Tackle Company 6-8" baits. Swim good at pretty much everything but a burn. 3:16 top hook rising son also fits what you are looking for. chevro1et

fishhct
the weedless rigged megabass magdraft is ridiculously good in weeds or rock bottom chevro1et
HookdUp
Maybe not 8in but close enough at 7 in I love a tournament talon when I wanna go a little faster than what I’d go with a hud or the water is murkier than I’d like . But don’t sleep on the talon chevro1et
