Bay Arean
Just curious if anyone has ever had their deps fill up with water? I was throwing mine yesterday and ended up getting water in the front body of my deps 250. Curious to see how you guys got the water out, since mine is trapped in. Garrett
When my 8" bbz filled with water i drilled a small hole in the back, drained the water out and let it evaporate out for a couple days. Then I shot some expanding foam in it (tuff stuff I think) to seal the leak from the inside, let it dry then epoxied the hole shut. There's probably better ways but that's how I've done it. Bay Arean
I figured drilling a hole was my only option . I’m trying to find something to fill the hole up with.
Angryjohn
Unless you find where the water is getting in there is no reason to try and seal the hole. I would add some die to the water and very lightly pressurize the bait to find the leak. You can do this with soap but only put that on the outside, as it's hard to uncontaminate the cracks from soa after.
crappie25
The way I use to find a leak is to put the bait in the freezer for about 15 minutes and then put the bait in warm water you will see where the leak is coming from
Bay Arean
Thanks guys, I’m gonna try that freezer method first, sounds the easiest. Now hopefully I can find some good plastic epoxy or something and hopefully fix the problem
Angryjohn
I have worked a lot with plastic and there are some amazing glues out there. Ips is a company that makes a product line called weldon. They have a very fine one that works for capilary action for cracks. If you are drilling a hole then you will have to find a small piece to cover over before adding a thick version like #16. This glue is amazing for putting back together broken bills if you have both pieces. I found an used it when building saltwater reef aquariums. I trusted it enough to prevent 300 gallons of salt water from ending up all over my house. The thinner stuff also has the highest breaking strength but that is not really an issue here. http://www.eplastics.com/adhesives?gclid=CjwKCAiAqbvTBRAPEiwANEkyCGbpRx_3bz1Yjq10CQE8me_b1Y8LZqP3XkK24Cv5zlfDt1zHHyj2jhoCHZMQAvD_BwE
