Tuning hiro 11"

I just bought an 11" hiro and it was supposed to be slow sink but it is more of a heavy floater.

I need some more depth and am looking for suggestions of suspend strip/lead tape placement so it wont affect the awesome glide it has.

Bait was bought 2nd hand but brand new with stock hardware

Thanks for any advice.

Use lead tape, small pieces at a time mainly around the body's joint so it sinks smoothly and evenly. Idk the weight of the lure, but i'd just add little by little. The stuff is cheap on ebay. Wrapping the hooks with lead will look terrible.

Cool thanks.

I have some suspend strips i will put some near the joint and see what happens.

Since you said its a heavy floater, the fine tuning from the lead tapes wont affect the action much and also you'll be able to make it a ss or xss

I've got an 11" Hiro exactly the same "heavy floater" at first I was disappointed, but now I like it the way it is. On the retrieve it goes down  about a foot and swims perfect on the stop a slow rise, I can also cast it like a nut because I don't have to worry about it going to the bottom. I think it fills a niche in my big glide line up.

Ya mine does the same thing. I fish a deep river for big striper so i need the option of getting down where the fish are.

As far as worrying about losing it... I chuck all my baits like they only cost 5 bucks. I cant fish scared... hahaha
