Morph808
JapanTackle.com does a lot of pre-orders for new JDM reels. It seems like they already have the new 2018 Calcutta Conquests in stock. What I found intriguing is that they went with a true non-disengaging levelwind for better line lay on the spool. However, to do so they had to ditch the SVS Infinity braking system and go back to the 6-pin VBS system. What do you guys think of this change, especially wanting to hear from guys with current Conquests or Calcuttas if they had line-lay issues. Here is the link to the product: http://japantackle.com/special/reg0000237.html FYI, I have bought reels from them in the past. The owner Jun has great customer service and he will try to answer your questions as best as possible.
chevro1et
I wondered why the TranX 300 / 400 reels had the 6 pin VBS system, as opposed to the newer 4 pin SVS system. Maybe it just performs better for the larger reels / lines / lures.

Plus the VBS style has proven itself to be a simple, durable system. jakevlastnik

Primus
I guess I'm old school but I prefer the old 6 pin brakes, my version of fine tuning is 1 break or 2 . nrx

gtw7983
It definitely casts the 10†Punker further than the 2015 Conquest; and the faster gear ratio is perfect for walking the Punker or glide baits. Morph808
