Dragon1972
I intend to get a dobyns & tranx 400 as a strictly Large scale glide & magnum crank rig. Anyone have perspective and or experience with either ?
alarios15
Yes, I have both dobyns rods and shimano tranx. That is definitely a good combo if you like the low profile reels instead of the round reels. Dobyns 908 should have you covered for the big swimbaits. Cant go wrong there. morris1
Not to hijack this topic but what is the true weight rating for an 867? Would it be good for a hinkle trout or mother?
drewmoniz
Not to hijack this topic but what is the true weight rating for an 867? Would it be good for a hinkle trout or mother? Haven't fished those baits myself but general consensus is the 908 is better suited for those baits.
alarios15
For the dobyns 867 I would not want to throw anything bigger than a deps 250 (6.5 oz). Some people say its more comfortable to throw the deps 250 on the 908. Hinkle or mother would definitely be the Dobyns 908. Also, I would step up to a 400 size reel.
