flaswimbaiter
I was in Miami today and determined to catch a peacock on a swimbait. It was tough and it took me all afternoon, but I finally got one and also scored a mayan cichlid, which was also a first on a swimbait. At one spot I had an observer, but he was not impressed, so he didn’t stick around.

Luke V.
Those fish are beautiful. Reminds me of when I went surf fishing in Hawaii.... the things we pulled in...... I almost felt ashamed catching something so beautiful. Almost.

jcanaday495
Awesome fish. Do the Peacocks get as big in Florida as they do down in south America?
flaswimbaiter
I appreciate the offer, but I am already home. No, not even close, the ones in Florida are butterfly peacocks, the state record os just over 9lbs. 2lbs is the average, 4-6 is big and 7+ is a monster. I want to get a 4+ on a swimbait. floridaswimb8er
awesome fish Dave. I used to catch cichlids and peacocks all the time in Ft. Lauderdale, my Granny lived right on a canal.
Deepfried
Nice peacock. Only if they were in our area besides aquariums.
