paynefish
Was going through my pics today and found the first hybrid I caught on a FS Shad Floater that I had to sell back to Triv to pay for the last part of my tuition for my last semester in grad school. I'll be finished in 6 weeks and ready to get back to fishing. I know I havent been around much but figured I needed to show all that learning didnt go to waste. The fish ate the Blue Back FS Shad Floater reeled in on a slow as chit steady retrieve. The reel was a 401 Cardiff on a Trinity Custom 8' Swimbait rod. 30lb big game for the line. Fish was off of an underwater bluff in 30 ft of water. Not sure how long he followed the bait but it took him 4 slaps at it to finally get it and then he airdanced for me several times. Sorry I didnt get the bait in the pic. Fish was flopping like crazy and spit the bait on the shore and this was the only pic I got of him laid out. evans_usmc69
Nice hybrid! Only hybrid I have ever caught was on a spoon in about 60ft of water, seen fish on the graph and figured what the hell, worth a shot. Thought I had a good spot at first
paynefish
they can be finicky on swimbaits at times when they are deep but this one was probably watching that bait thinking it was mocking him taking a leisurely stroll like that. He got pizzed when that pair of hooks dug in though.
