flaswimbaiter Posted January 6, 2013 Report Share Posted January 6, 2013 I have been sidelined due to a sinus infection for a couple of weeks. I have been on a few short trips, but gotten skunked. Today was the first day I could really focus on freshwater. I started the day with a Huddleston,I got one cut off (gar, mudfish?) and a skinny two pounder. I found a large pipe extending into the lake; I cast beyond it and slow rolled parallel to it. Half way up I got wacked, I saw the flash and knew it was a snook. After a few jumps and drag pulling a got her in. She was not a monster, but at 30†I was happy to get her. After that I lost three good fish on my Hyper Herring, I guess it’s time to change out the hooks. On the way home I stopped by one more spot. I still had the Hudd on, so I started with that. I got a tangle in my spool, as I was fixing it my bait sank to the bottom. Right when I lifted it, I felt the thump and this 5lbs 10oz bass was on the end of my line.
