Ltrain
Now let me welcome everybody to the wild, wild west... Just wanted to give a shout out to the Cali SU boys for hookin' it up while I was in town. BenD... True gentlemen and all around super cool guy. You went above and beyond the call of duty by lending me rods to throw and showing me your spots. Definitely cool to not only chuck with you but to chill, talk, and have a meal with you and the Wombat. KILLED IT! Good times. Can't wait to talk details about my next rod too. Thanks Brother! Wombat... Another super cool guy and a legend according to Ben. He doesn't like cold water but I hope he can get over it and get himself and Ben out to the northeast! Thanks for taking me out on your home water. You da man. Geoff... Never got to meet him unfortunately but he got my reels out to me as a special rush service. If you follow instagram, it was my Curado that was super gunked up and abused. Not only did he get it back to me when I needed it, it came back better than new!!! The reel is so fast now that I have to retrain my thumb! Thanks and I promise to take better care of my reels. As for fishing, I got totally skunked on the Swimbait bite. I sucked. Maybe it was performance anxiety who knows. The big girls were there. I saw them everywhere. They just didn't want anything to do with me. It's ok. I ain't mad at ya! Thank you gentlemen. Thank you Cali. ...Yeah, That's right West coast, west coast Uh, California Love California Love...

Wished it wouldn't have even taken me that long. No worries on the gunk, i've seen way worse. Wasn't having a great morning, and was pissed off at my animals. Glad you could make it out and had a great time. Ben and Jonel are two of nicest dudes you could ask to meet. Definitely have a good time anytime they are around. Anytime you are back out here, you are welcome to roll on my boat at Canyon, just say the word! Geoff

jomama
just a short intro so that y'all don't start thinking i'm a troll - ltrain has been a good buddy of mine for about a quarter century now. we've fished dvl together twice now, including this last trip of his out to the golden coast. i've been out of the game for a while now after getting skunked time after time out at castaic. just a few days ago, ltrain hooked me up with a nice baitcaster rod/reel set, and i've thrown it every day since! according to ltrain, i caught my first "swimbait" fish a few days ago - on a rainbow trout trash fish. it'll be a while before i have gear to throw some more serious (money) swimbaits, but it might happen. oh, and i met ben too, who i'm sure will help make that swimbait slope a bit more slippery. but for now, i'll live vicariously through some of you fine folks. here's a pic of my second (better) fish of the year, which came a few casts after i landed my first, both caught on the trash fish. sorry for the poor perspective of the pic...that's prob a 12lber there, if you include the 9.5lbs from my arm.
