Huge Snook and Better Bass

After a two month slump, it feels good to catch some fish again. I went to an old spot (and found a bonus lake) that produced 5-6 fish from 2.5 to just over 4 pounds on the baby wake and Hudd68.

Afterwards I fished a different lake with my BA, but could not get any hits or follows. I decided to try one more spot by the end of the lake. I was slow rolling it and paused it just as it came into view and something big and silver came out of nowhere and nailed it. It was so cool actually getting to see the bite. It hit me so hard and fast I didn’t even have to set the hook. Even though my reel was locked down with 40lbs braid, she still pulled it out with ease. She made three strong runs and countless jumps before I could get her under control. She was 36 inches and one of the fattest snook I ever caught, I am estimated her to be at least 16lbs. She is also my largest on a swimbait. Now I just wish I could get a bass on this bait, it seems they only want to follow it.
