dang look at that slug! things a tank. I wish i had some CPL's like that up here in the north... only a few pods where I'm at and they get alot of pressure too, from un-ethical folks ect... great job on the catch!! did you get a weight on that fatty?

trust me my man this pond is soo pressured its crazy!! this fish is a miracle dude like i dont think to many fish come out of this pond over 5 pounds...I still am in shock this pond hold pigs like this..it has taken 5 years and countless trips with a skunk to find this girl! keep swinging you will find um

Hahahahahahaha all us OC boys fish here its practiclly the oc test pool  !! the other day there was 17 anglers around this place shoulder to shoulder!!! but im defiantly down to fish with you all.. Pm me numbers and lets make it happen! thinking of headed there today actually around 530 or 6

and as for weight i didnt bring my scale i literally brought my set up, a weedless 8 inch hudd and my dead horse floating gil which is strange becuase typically i bring a back pack with a good amount of baits, scale, etc but some trout angler had some cheezy scale from i wanna say the 80's its one of those tiny little black ones with a tape measure in it but on his cheesy scale she was bouncing between 7.2 and 7.9 so im gonna say 7.2 was about her size.. i like to estimate on the lighter side at all times..Gotta love when the one time you dont bring your typicall back pack you get a hog that would have been nice to get a digi scale to..But i love the tug more then knowing the wieght so i wasnt to bummed ..The tug is my drug : )

Thank you all for your kind words i appeciate it!!

I don't know if I can trust those spring scale but the next best thing is to get the measurement (length X girth). You don't even need a tape measurer. Just get some fishing line: line it for the length and cut, wrap around for the girth and cut. Bring the two lines home and measure.

(girth X girth) x length / 800

Or just toss the thing back....

I like your style!!

i fish for the fight not the weight but i appeciate the line tip it may be worht a try next time i come to a situation like this.. those spring scales are worthless and i didnt care to weight the fish it was the other angler or the scales owner that wanted to know the weight..funny how the dood that catches didnt care but other anglers did haha.. A succes to me is getting a good fight taking a photo or two and watching her swim away the second i put her back...On a Side note 10 minutes later she blew up a shad or baitfish on the top water which made my day to see she was good and eating after our meeting :)
