exploited waters what are your thoughts????

What do you guys think??? Fishing in a pond that is only 160acres catching #8, 9, 10, and 13+ consistently day in day out; would you tell the whole world??? How do you guys feel if after years of fishing this lake? All of a sudden you see it being exploited all over the social media sites. On top of that having to witness multiple bucket fishermen’s with stringer full of bass walking the shoreline in search of spawners. Honestly this makes me sick. I believe in fishing and sharing information but damn not to the whole world right??? Am I wrong for being pest off? In my understanding fishing pressure does and will effect bass population over time along with the consistency of big toads. For those who have been in the game for years what are your thoughts???

No I'm right there with you. I watched the lake I grew up fishing get absolutely destroyed. It went from a great population of quality fish to being overfished and hardly having anything left anymore, save a bunch of smaller emaciated looking fish. However it was before social media, but social media definitely isn't helping the lake now. I see random people that live an hour + away and they're posting pictures of the lake and tagging the spot and everything. I don't live there anymore, but I still cringe when I see it.

Yeah this sucks big time!!! i dont mind sharring water with catch and release guys but the bucket fisherman drive me nuts  recently i ran into a bucket fisherman that had a bucket full of bass ( at least 6) and a few were still flopping so i took it upon myself to release the floppers from the bucket..He didnt like this very much but i loved it:) did i mention that day i sawl 17 anglers on a pond that maybe 1 or 2 acres if that...Gotta love Cali

Social Media has made our waters a lot more populated but i know i never ever name the spot in someones picture or post.. I find it rude and almost disrespectful to say the spot specially if the poster didnt himself.. Keep it hush no need to name spots becuase if you know you know if they dont lets keep it that way.. The blurred out background seems to be a good way to ensure this just wish i knew how or what program to do this

Don’t even get me started on this subject. We have entire lakes that get wiped out by cane pole and cast net killer or the old live bait meat fisherman. When you try to explain what they are doing is wrong, you find out the true definition of ignorant.

This is why I crop pic and don’t shoot vids, there are a lot of lurkers out there, I found this out the hard way.

I am going to stop now before I really get on my soapbox.

Really though, if they have a license and are keeping whatever the established limit is, who are we to tell anyone else what to do with their fish?

If they are keeping more than what is allowed or fishing using illegal means, then report them.

Just sayin', people get paid to patrol and enforce....

This. It's actually illegal to molesg another fisherman PR his catch, so DFG would have raped you, not him.

Yes people get piad to patrol but doesnt mean they do there job.. my expriences with DFG is they take over an hour to respond to calls and that is if they even come, sorry i took matters into my own hands and put fish back. i dont know if you sawl but he had 6 fish the limit is 5 so im sure dfg would be understanding and let me slide just this time..i love that a large mouth fisherman is standing up for a poacher hahahaha this is great.. no wonder so cal lakes are going to crap we have people defending poachers like it is okay and saying its a bad move to protect my fisheries.. Well i dont know how you lmv punks fish but around here we release all bass no matter what the limit says. I d like for my grand kids to be able to enjoy the fun of fishing to.

Just look at my new signature below  That about sums it up. It's true. People that don't fish waters much will put those out of the way places on blast and not say a word or anything of their local waterway. Spot burners are all over they come to you in a very nice friendly way, if they even need to. Facebook is a spot burners dream. I know of a few that are loving it I bet and they will travel. To many clues left/land marks.

Those that keep posting back grounds will learn 1st hand when they can no longer fish areas because the places are taken by others because of you, and now You need to find new water, How fun it that? I didn't listen either at 1st, I too was warned, where did it get me? I quit fishing, two years, it was just to ugly. Came back with back stab shirts  All you posting backgrounds , you will regret it later. I will bet on it. But hey , why listen. I had got to a place where I just can't trust fishermen anymore (thanks guys). You just can't tell what a person will do. I have some other nice videos but to much shows so it won't be posted. As soon as you post up a pic with backgrond some guy has to post the name of the place  EVRYONE WHO DOES WELL AND SHOWS BACKGROUNDS WILL LEARN THE HARD WAY. Plus those that share with (cough) friends , Betrayal is no fun either.

LOL, here we go again....

Using a line you previously threw at me, "do some research." Selective Harverst is what makes a bass fishery productive, absolute catch and release will ultimately stunt your bass population.

I would personally love to meet you. We could discuss a number of topics I'm sure....

Are you seeing things? i never once said in this thread "do your research" but hey now that you said it maybe you should look into the amount of poaching and problems with city park lakes in california before you tell me that catch and release would be a negitive thing..We have plenty of harvesting going on here in cali if only you didnt judge what needs to happen in california from the other side of the states..Have you even fished a city park here? have you even been to cali? becuase i damn well know i would never tell you how your waters should be harvested without going and fishing there for many many years!

There is no good excusee to keep bass from city parks here i repeat none.

I can think of one good reason. Hunger perhaps?

Also, I didnt "judge" anything. I stated that if someone pays for a license and keeps fish under the limit, then there really can be nothing said. If they happen to congregate in CPLs then yeah, that sucks but still IMO within their rights. Anything outside the confines of the law should be handled by law enforcement, not you.

BTW, I was referring to our disagreement in your review with the "research" comment.
