Are they still fishing these tournaments? I saw youtube clips of HBC1 and HBC2, but I havent seen HBC3 or others on youtube. If these tournaments still happen and you guys have links, or video clips, please share!

Long answer - hbc 3 was supposed to be at amistad, but due to the economy, they "postponed" it. They held a couple more at Don Pedro and I believe one other lake, then the tournaments dissapeared.

I gotcha, wish I could find footage of the other tourneys they had before the tournaments stopped... Always entertaining to see what everyone is throwing and always learn a thing or two.

The first HBC was IMO the best one they had out of however many they up ended doing. I got to be a marshal for the first one, and almost every one of the BIG swimbait sticks we here about today were there. Was absolutely crazy weather that day, and Don Osborne ended up catching the winning fish in I believe the first 30 min of the tourney.

That would be correct, he caught that fish on his first cast, actually!

A couple of guys I knew that fished that event said that morning that the winning fish would prob be caught in the first 2 hours. We got word while on the water that someone had stuck a donkey, but it was unclear as for who it was.

With more people going big than ever before, Ken would still like to bring this back. I think he would change the payback though. Just 1st place was nice but paying down a few spots would seem more appealing. If enough interest was there he may just bring it back. He has Ron C in place now so you never know ; ) The first HBC was a treat for me because I met Dana Rossin When I was new in the sport I was in awe of what he was doing back then.
