  1. I'll hang onto this battles trout and send you a hinkle shad instead if you want it? laughable but I'm serious.
  2. Thanks for all the thoughts. In my opinion 4lbs isn't much for a fish of that size, given the amount of trout she was consuming/consumed at that time and that she was most likely in her prime. 2.5 years of no trout and being caught in the middle of summer versus pre-spawn will also change the weight of the fish. In my mind, I believe she is probably getting up there in years for a bass and getting close to the end of her life cycle.

  4. Rockstar!!! Says the Butch Brown of the East Coast! hahah. You are the best DSouth!
  5. Here is my submission to the GoPro Best Catch contest with a little follow up. Enjoy.
  6. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink Butch... About 6 years ago, my little pony ass took that sip at the Butch Brown watering hole and never looked back. Once i gave the fish the amount of credit butch often does, it was a hole new world of learning and understanding. Granted we do fish a lot of the same type of water so much of what Butch preaches strikes very close to home for guys like me in southern California. With that said, I believe that the same theories/ideas call for great success in other parts of the country with less swimbait pressure and visibility. Taking a few steps back, prior to worrying about what line you are using, what rod, reel and highly elusive magical bait. I think that most guys would have a lot more success in general if they looked at the big picture and did their homework on the body of water they fish. Understanding where those fish eat, when they eat and why at that location will have a more profound impact on your fishing then microscopic differences in line size. Once you establish the pattern, then start tinkering with baits and lines to figure out what gets those fish to commit. Keep your nose down, fish hard and most importantly, THINK. Butch, you are among a handful of guys that have helped me be more successful then i ever could have imagined. I've taken the respect/credit you have for GIANT bass and relative theories and applied them to my fishing with what i consider great results. Please continue to share what you are comfortable with because some people truly listen. Thank you for years of inspiration and knowledge.

I actually put the camera in the bass' mouth. Its a good perspective to know how big those mouths are when you can stick a camera in the mouth and still have room. The ordeal was over pretty quick though, lasted about 30 seconds.
  9. Referring to the SDfish 2014 big fish list. There is a difference between a "Swimbait fish" and a fish caught from a bed "Using a Swimbait". As for Blocks' fish, that is a swimbait fish!
  10. Thanks! Im glad you enjoyed it. I plan on doing this with every video i release. Entertainment version, follow it up with the commentary to the catch
  11. Thanks for all the positive vibes! I hear you Trev.
