  1. Congrats Wayne! Read your post this morning, great job man! Geoff
  2. You have to understand why they are there. They are present in far more reels than you'd expect. If they aren't and your finger gets stuck in the level wind, goodbye finger. I will mirror what most are already saying with the TE/Conquest line. VERY solid reels, and built to last. The new conquests have some nice upgrades over the previous model as well, and look to be a nice alternative to its predecessor. Shrapnel is a great choice too, as well as the pluton/ryoga line. Every reel has it's pitfall for sure. Find a few different people who have some different choices, and see if they'd let you try em out. You won't truly know what you like until it's in your hands. Geoff

  12. I had a few I just got rid of. Chucked one for a whole day, easy 250-300 casts, still looks pretty brand new. Maybe those people got a bad one? they are softer than other soft baits, keeping mend it on hand is a good idea. I didn't get any fish on the 11's. 1 on the 9" and one bite that tore off the top fin. Still was in good shape. I just sold them all. For what it's worth, I like fishing the hudd more, but it's my confidence bait. They definitely give the fish a different look and they are heavy. The two I did have swam slightly different from each other, so maybe the quality within batches can be different? Also, the 11" sinks a little slower because there is so much plastic. Mine were maybe ROF 5-7 ish Just my experience Geoff
  13. Low profile is more comfortable to palm. Personally, a 200 size reel is too limiting for my tastes, but that's just it, all the above is all preference to the person tossing the baits. I can tell you with a pluton (my favorite), if I really rear back, I can spool my reel with an 8' hudd. I've got big hands, so I prefer the round reels myself. Curado/Lexa 300 would be a great place to start in my opinion. Stick with something with oversized gears if you can.
