  1. If I'm not working I will definitely try to make it.
  2. I had a different college experience than most people. I went to Cal Maritime, the whole "college is the best years of your life" doesn't apply when you go to a maritime academy. It was cool when I got to travel during summer for school (South America, South Pacific), but during the school year I busted my ass studying things like ship stability and celestial navigation on top of the regular classes. Graduating was the best, now I'm working for my dream company, doing a week on week off deal. A senior told me when I was a freshman "it's a shi**y place to be, but its a great place to be from".
  3. Got this one at Irvine on the homebrew.

    300TE vs 300D

Here's another comparison, the 400D is on the top. Its on a 909XH.

    Penn reels

I've worked on sportboats in socal and worked in a tackle shop too, and from what I've seen and experienced, the current International baitcasters are garbage. There were multiple times I had helped customers that were set on buying them. These same reels came back to us for repair all within a week with stripped gears and burnt out drags. I'm all for supporting American, but Penn would need to completely turn the Internationals around before I considered buying them.

    300TE vs 300D

You're right, my apologies. I'll still take pick it up over my TE any day.

    300TE vs 300D

Exactly what I think of shimono right now. I'd rather buy a used D series curado than a e or g any day new! They are getting cheap. I be it's the same with the calcutta. I agree 100%. All you have to do is look at how much more plastic there is on that D then the TE, it maybe a sweet reel but I don't think it will be the work horse that the TE is. It was my pictures Ali posted. I am blown away by this reel, it made my 300TE feel like junk. The only plastic added is the drag star, which didn't bother me at all. I suggest you pick up the reel and fish it before judging it. By the way for those interested the handle is 115 mm.
  8. +1 why throw a Hudd for cuda, just throw the iron.
  9. Not sure if this should be here or in the down time forum, so please move it if necessary. I was just wondering if anyone does it here. I recently moved to Alameda permanently and since I just started working, don't have a boat yet. I'm not trying to burn anyone's spot, I'm just a kid that wants to throw swimbaits from a boat on some new water.

    GOT ONE !

What does that mean??? 6'4" and 245 pounds of fury? That is what I imagine CW is like. Great fish and sick bait. Congrats! -Ali Ali, does that mean I'm about 7'2'' and 423 pounds of swimbait thrower?
  11. Before you post about something, you should know if it's fact or not. Rago fixed the problem. Paint chipping, as Nufo said is true. The tail problem is fixed! I've seen um thrown on the bank and not break. And for the paint I like my baits beat up looking Mine looks like someone took it to a belt sander, but all I care about is it action. I too slammed it into the bank a few times, no issues.

  13. I think you're one of the very few people that got the point. Like the way you worded the response. I think anyone that's been around for a while knows you put up.
  14. Found it. Keep in mind I was 16 and amped up on everything.
  15. Depends how its hooked and on what gear. I used to have a video of me bouncing (swinging on a sport boat in socal slang) a 30# giant squid, of course that was on a 6465XXXH with 100#. I've swung fish close to 10# on flippin gear.

    First Report

Only an idiot would fish a bait rigged by the guy that rigged that hudd.
  18. What you can't see in the pic is that it's also close to 1.5x taller than the 300E
  19. PM me your email as I'll send you the pic I cant post it. Its got great free spool it's just huge.
  20. I can assure you guys this isn't a swimbait reel. I handled it at the ISE it's a TN16 with a levelwind. I took a pic of it next to a 300E and it dwarfs it. I have big hands and couldn't palm this thing. It's a musky/saltwater reel. I'll try to get the pic up later.
