  1. im in. got some vacation around christmas time. i live in north san diego, sounds like a blast
  2. i fished his line of rods on a trip with matt, and they are definitely nice to fish with all day. the design was primarily focused on casting the baits far, and the rod loads up very nice. the rods are 7'9'' because he said he didnt see enough of an advantage to make the rod 8', the distance on the cast is about the same. the action on the rod like previously mentioned was not the primary concern. it may not have the perfect action for a certain bait, but it definitely can hold its own. with all that being said, i do not own any of the irods, i just fished them the entire day on that trip. i do have two LDC rods in the xh and xxh and they are definitely an amazing rod! as far as a gift for someone, i would definitely recommend the irod, it is a good inexpensive rod to get into throwing swimbaits with. i do like the irod lineup better than my crucials from that one day on the water. hope this helps
  3. Sounds awesome! It will be cool to get some reviews on the baits before it is released. Hopefully other baitmakers will jump on board too
  4. i personally tie direct, but i was looking at trying the berkely crosslock snap swivel. i heard that when you use braid ( i use 65lb power pro) that all the casting and the action of the bait could burn the line causing it to weaken and break on a cast or a fish. anyone else want to chime in on that? just wanted to dee if anyone else has experienced that

  13. i dont think that there are very few people that have the ideas, i do think that very few people have the artistic ability, patience, and commitment to make an idea a reality. this is why it sucks for the guys who put in time and effort to make a bait and have someone steal their design and idea then go and make money off of it. its truly something special when you get a bait that is like nothing else you have. thats something i know i appreciate when i spend my hard earned money on an expensive swimbait! so props to the innovators who always have us on edge wondering whats next!
  14. still looking to get a double digit. been working hard at it every chance i get.
  15. How much are you looking to spend?
  16. yes, the fishing license is done electronically now. got mine the other day
  17. how do i get one of those?
  18. I keep a detailed log book. I record date, temp outside, watercolor, lures that worked, colors, location of fish and how many I caught. I usually fill it out when I get home from fishing. I don't get to fish whenever I want because of work, so this is the closest thing to tracking the fish that I can think of
  19. just wondering what everyones thoughts are on trolling swimbaits as opposed to casting and working the bait in? also what baits do you prefer totroll? i personally cast and work the bait in, but wondered how productive trolling is
