  1. One hell of a fish Master Kenobi The other day I believe I hooked into something like that but my rod snapped and lost the fish, if only I had my LDC........jk
  2. Ah c'mon Dave, I'm dissapointed in you, thats just a little guy, grab him by the back of the head and take your bait back!
  3. I hear you Don, I completely agree. This rig works great for me, I mostly fish for trophy Specks, Southeast Coast guys know what im talking about, they have a softer smaller mouth and this rig gets them for me. Either way thanks for the rig setup
  4. Hate to hijack the post but how does Don rig a 6" Hudd? HAHA! I rig mine (6" and 8" ) just how they come out of the pack. The only thing I do is open the jig hook a little so it's no longer pointing down into the bait. That's it. Any other rig ( head hook) is not used very often. I also fish the bait the same in clear or muddy water I thought I had a couple in my truck(At work as usual) but heres a pic I found, I remember reading that story and I rigged them like that ever since, I also use these baits in the salt, which usually the fish Im chasing have a smaller mouth so the stinger works wonders. Unless I'm mistaken, but Im pretty sure that was you Don
  5. Oh and the specks love them, but they tend to tear them up pretty badly with the fangs, I'd imagine the snook would be all over them
  6. David your waters pretty much look like mine, that being said if your not chucking a Hudd I recommend picking up a few, I try to stay more natural colors to my waters, silver/black, silver/green. Slow and steady on the retreive, if you think your going slow enough, slow it down some more. Feel the bait working on the bottom. I have a couple of the plain 6inch hudds, but really liking these 68s. Put some stink on it and start chucking. You can use the stock hooks, but most rig them other ways. For the 6inch hudds, I'll rig them like Don does, 8inch like Butch. Find what works best for you.
  7. You bring the turtle, Ill bring the gator, whose cooking?
  8. My plan for 2011............is to find an old rich lady to marry so I can quit my job and fish more, these 16 hour days are killing me!
  9. Then I'd say do what you must. Always enjoy Chaozu posts, no BS and straight to the point. Its there baits now, something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay.
  10. For once being stuck at work on a weekend isn't so bad
  11. As in Holy $h!t moments where your a$$ puckers up We all have some being on the water, whether on land or boat, or just simply driving to the launch. I'll go first with an old pic/story. Fishing the salt for a couple specks and a few Reds tossing a Hyper Herring. Mullets were on top of the menu for the day and the HH were getting them. Hooked up with a nice red and since I hate netting them(they never give up and tangle everything) used the Boga instead. As I was lipping the red I noticed a large dark shadow and in a split second a large BullShark grabbed the red as I was pulling her up. sharks dont bother me one bit, but to actually have one a foot away from your hand with jaws fully open, lets just say I had to go home and wash my boxers So lets hear some funny stories ladies!
  12. Saltwater Swimbaits, beautiful. Sooooooooo Mickey, ahem......Mullet........kinda looks like a Striper.........
  13. I was hoping the shot of the BA would have come out better but if you look close that bait has so many teeth marks on it, that bait has been chewed on BIG time. That bait for me just plane gets eaten. I definatly beleive you, most of my freestyles look like they've been through a sand storm, take a pic and you cant see them, Mickey uses some space age clear coat, I wish my Tundra had that good of a coat
  14. We call them Shupik down in CajunLand setting the hook into these monsters will make you beleive you have a state record bucketmouth.
  15. Not to mention taking the hook out with your fancy pliers! Geoff Man you wouldn't beleive how many pliers I threw away, salt doesn't play around. great investment.....well until I drop them in the water one day......
  16. I have a pair, while I love my shads, the trout ripp a tad harder.....especially the floater, you can rip as hard as you want and it just glidesssss, as sometimes my shad will come flying out the water. Im told there protos, and from what I have seen I probably could make a pretty buck off them, but its more fun to beat up a "rare" "expensive" bait Just like my 6RD, she has some pretty scars as some would cringe just tying a knot on her. I tell you theres nothing like pulling a fish in with $500 bucks sitting in there mouths
  17. Heres my SS golden shinner, Mickey must use some kind of space age Clear Coat, its hard to see but in person it looks like someone put a grinder to it. Sorry for the crappo pics, but after I dropped my last one in the water, im done. I think my white floater has the most damage, but its hard to capture a good pic of it.
  18. Caught over 100 fish easily on this bait since the summer, between Saltwater and Fresh. The paint stood up great but over time, redfish have pointy teeth, Specks have fangs, bass, garfish, etc... eventually it couldn't take anymore. Its a crappy pic but theres gashes through out the bait, I even had to replace the eyes as the originals were ripped off.
  19. where did u get that?????? Its a FrankenBait caught a good number of smaller fish on her, but you cant tell because Mickeys white paintjob is damn near indestructible, Mickey will you paint my truck?
  20. Ha Shinner is an Old School swimbaiter, kinda one of the GodFathers of swimbait collections check out his user link pics on the 3:16 site, used to really enjoy your reports on TT, look forward to reading them here
  21. Invest in a pair of Van Staal Pliers, all titanium, it should be the last pair you buy, well unless you drop them in the water or Ben "borrows" them My pair has been going strong 2 years in the salt.

    GGR

Well since nobody else will say it, Greg got banned........sorta
  23. I just want a Mullet Freestyle, sure I have a custom painted one, but I'd like to see Mickeys look on one.
  24. In fresh water I'll torque it down, in salt, about 75%. Since you'll never know what you"ll hook sometimes, that tight drag just means somethings gonna give. 75% drag with thumb control.
