  1. After loading up the boat and talking to other anglers, I met a guy who had both an OG Armageddon and a 1-Up. It's not everyday one meets a fellow Texan with such treasures I got to hold both For just a moment, I reached nirvana. Oh yeah, I caught some fish too. One on a FS shad, so that made it a good day.
  2. Dude! Fish are wet anyway. Gear up and go fishing
  3. If you can get here by noon tomorrow you can go fishing with me through Sat afternoon. It's supposed to be in the mid 40's for a high but I'll be fishing where the water's warm. Gotta love power plant lakes! Catch a flight to DFW and I'll pick you up there
  4. JT - there's a guy on the TFF who's gathering up gear for kids. He runs a camp and has them fishing Fork this year. His post is in the OT. I've tried this before and it's difficult to pull off unless you have an organization to give it to.
  5. JT - I use Reel magic on all my reels - braid, floro, and mono. Works for me... The KVD stuff seems to work best if I spray it on the night before a trip, but not very well while I'm fishing. Being as I never think about that the night before, I nearly always end up using reel magic.
  6. I've sold and shipped several rods using the Tackle Warehouse tubes but like others have suggested, I always wrap it with lots of bubble wrap so that it can't shift around. Another trick is to take a paint stirring stick and tape it to the tip of the rod along with a lot of bubble wrap. Just for a little extra protection.
  7. Thanks! I've never thought of the Tiger / Tora tubes as being "smaller" But I guess they are compared to these things. I gotta get me some of those!
  8. I know that the big tubes are not technically a swimbait, but I couldn't find a website dedicated to big tubes..... I bought some 6" Tiger tubes and heads along with some Tora tubes this spring and fished them without much to show for it. The best action I had was the Tora tube rigged on a weighted Owner Beast and thrown in some pads / grass. Can anyone shed some light on ways / places / conditions to fish the big tubes and actually catching something?
  9. Dammit JT! You're going to be the most heavily armed swimbaiter in Texas - who doesn't have time to fish Can I borrow some of your gear???
  10. Dangit! I was about to send you some top dawgs and mission fish for repair
  11. I don't have a dog in this hunt so it doesn't hurt my feelings, but I loved the Texas reference And not all of us think he's a god Just like anything I read on the internet, all information gleaned is taken with a grain (or two) of skepticism. Except of course anything said by Greg or Mickey
  12. This isn't a "how I did it" but a how do I? I want to rig a top treble on a ROF 5 hudd. I don't have steel leader material, could get some, but do have some 65lb braid. Anyone got a recommended procedure?
  13. Hey Moto - I can see better now. How 'bout you? Or do you need some "cheaters"?
  14. just maybe it's the "other white meat"? I have no clue but I do think that my white baby wake has a very shad like look to it. Maybe to a bass' eyes it looks more like shad than, well... shad?
  15. Hey.... little fish need love too

  17. That's cool. I thought I was just getting old or something
