  1. Review of the Triple Trout: Intro: Spent quite a bit of time this summer throwing the triple trout in sizes 7-10". It was by far my most productive sinking hard bait this summer and caught me quite a few good sized fish while other baits were not producing. I had stashed this bait deep in one of my boxes of baits and completely forgot about it. One night over the summer, the bite was tough and I happened to see this bait sitting there. I decided to tie it on and give it a go. in a 25 minute span, I landed 8 fish ranging from 3-5lbs while my friend landed nothing. This was all on the 10" Triple trout. It completely changed the way I looked at the bait and I couldn't be happier I found this guy. Colors: The triple trout colors are extremely generic and unrealistic, but so is the overall presence of the bait. The colors do a great job imitating a wide range of bait species so overall, I really like them. The two colors I throw are light and dark trout simply because they are the closest match to the forage in the lakes that I fish. Application: Definitely a high point of this bait. It can literally be fished anywhere. It can be fished deep, ripped through grass, burned on the surface, and mid water column for suspending fish. I personally have caught most of my fish on this bait making casts along docks and erratically twitching my bait at any changes in structure. Action: The best way to describe the action of the triple trout is wide and unique. The 7-8" make faster, narrower "s" movements while the 10" makes a long wide "s". There is no other bait on the market with this sort of action. Don't let it scare you though, the fish like it. Tackle: I have been fishing my 10" triple trout on an Okuma Guide Select H, a calcutta 400TE or cardiff 300 with 25lb maxima and my 7-8" on the Evergreen Ballista, Calais 200 with 20lb flouro. Note: I always keep my drag a bit lose especially on triple trouts because for some reason, I have torn through a lot of lips and lost some quality fish because of a locked drag. Quality: The triple trout I believe is made out of a polyurethane and is extremely strong. My baits has gone through a few collisions with rocks and docks, so far, only damage is scuffed up paint. There are definitely some signs of wear on my baits but it most definitely hasn't effected the performance of the bait. As with any bait with sharp hooks, the paint will get scratched. As far as the hooks, the stock ones are not the best. I immediately switch the hooks for owner st-36's. Performance: The triple trout flat out catches fish. It can be fished at all speeds and will get fish when other baits wont. I fish this bait pretty fast most of the time. Usually i will give the bait a few quick reels, then a pause, then a few quick reels, then directional change. I recomend not twitching the bait with the rod tip but rather give a quick reel and give the bait a bit of slack. This has prevented fowling for me by quite a significant amount. I have really only caught fish with this bait in warmer months. That may change this season though, we will have to see. Negatives: Unrealistic appearance Fowls often. Proof!

Go with 25lb. I like Maxima for my hudds. Works very well for me!
  3. Definitely In. On the border between the LA and Ventura County. Im completely open the 16th-3rd. Really looking forward to this thing!
  4. The 6.5" rising son is a bait that I have spent a lot of time throwing. THE SET-UP- I have been throwing the 6.5" bottom hook on an Evergreen Ballista which is a 7'4" medium powered medium action rod. I have used a wide range of reels including a Shimano Curado 200 E5, Shimano Calais, and a Cardiff 300. All of the reels worked flawlessly for the bait. As for line, I fish straight 50lb Power Pro Braid when I am night fishing, and 20lb flouro during the day(6.5"). As far as application, I have had the best luck fishing this bait during the warmer months(March-September). This being said, we have caught a good amount of fish on this bait in the dead cold days of winter. I would say 90% of the fish my friends and I have caught on this bait have been after 6pm. Its an unbelievable sub-surface night bait. this is because it draws fish from a distance due to its heavy vibrations. This bait has honestly become one of my go to baits at all times of the year. When the fishing gets tough, try this bait, you may be surprised at the outcome. Here is a fish I caught on this bait on one of the coldest days of the year. Though it was only 5 pounds, to this day, it is the biggest fish we have caught out of that whole Here is a fish that my friend Drew caught during one of the warmer days of August These videos show the seasonal diversity of this bait. Its no 1 season special, it catches fish year round. Notice both videos are on the Sissy colored bait. Both videos are using the same exact bait which brings me into durability. This bait can last 20+ fish. That sissy bait has caught us probably over 25 fish. I did have my first rising son break last year, but that was after around 20 fish. The longevity of this bait is pretty amazing. This is due, in part, because of the detaching hook which also increases landing percentages rather significantly. An eye may fall out, but as long as you have soft bait glue, it remains fishable for quite a while. Appearance- The colors are great. From beneath, the body is extremely lifelike. It has a generic sort of body allowing it to mimic a lot of different baitfish. There is a color for almost every application. Action- This is where this bait truly shines. It has, by far, the best action of any "flat-back" style softbait. The tail wags wider, and at slower speeds that any other bait of this style on the market. It creates strong vibrations and draws fish from a distance making this bait a great choice for murky water situations and night fishing. With a slow and steady retrieve, this guys tail will dance. Its pretty amazing. The bottom hook is definitely an upper water column bait. It sinks roughly 1 ft every 3 seconds so I have had best luck fishing it in that 1-2ft zone. The top hook sinks much faster, around 1 foot a second. The top hook is not a bait that I fish too often, but it has produced a couple quality fish for me and is great for deeper applications when a fish wants a bait more erratic than a hudd. Biggest fish that we have caught on this bait was from my friend Drew. This was late December, the fish swallowed it. This one went 7lbs. All and all, definitely a must have bait for anybody across the country
  5. not bad? that is insane for 3 months. Nice baits. Haha man! Great collection. Now u gotta fish em u definitely have the tools to catch the giants
  6. Yeah, GoPros the best! Haha ive been filming everything i do for 4 months now haha. Its the perfect tool to document fishing.
  7. Hey, I'm extremely interested. Southern California!
  8. I have the #11 12" hudd with Ken's initials on the back. Used a bit, one of the front fins fell off then was glued back on. I believe its a rof 8. I haven't thrown it since I have had it though. Very cool piece of swimbait history! Lookin to trade for 3:16 stuff mostly. Let me know what u have though!
  9. Making our very own HBC haha this is gonna be fun.
  10. Nicknick22 and I are in for the next 1 as well haha can't wait!
  11. went out yesterday. got 1 the first cast then it got off while i was dead lifting him. Drew (Hookup) got this guy that went almost 6 but hes not in the tournament.
  12. As far as hardware goes, on the 10" I use #6-7 hyperwire split rings. 3/0 St-36, or Gammakatsu Round Bends with a 3/0 in front and a 2/0 in back. I have had nights where the fish wanted a bait burned almost as fast as i could reel, or at times, its a lot of stop and go. I almost always fish the bait fast though. I just change up the frequency of the pasues as well as how long i actually pause the bait. Here are some 10" Fish
  13. Looking for a 1 joint 12" Slammer, Any condition! Let me know if you have 1! Willing to buy or trade!
  14. Yeah, if your gonna get a smaller TT, I'd go with the 7" as well. Heres a quick story on why: My friend Nick and I were out on the lake 1 evening, he was throwing his 6" TT, i was throwing 7". Nick was only catching tiny fish that night, like >2lb. And while we thought that is was just a bad night as far as fishing, I proceeded to get this guy. That being said, don't be afraid to throw the 10"! I've probably caught more with the 10" than all his other baits combined and the average fish is higher quality.
  15. I believe this 9.5" bait is gonna be killer for me. As far as ripping and burning the bait goes, he told me he catches most his fish with a slow creep on the surface. He didn't build the bait for ripping. The bait will swim at the absolute slowest speeds. Overall, its a subtle, life like bait, I like it a lot.
  16. nick and I were fishing the other night and couldn't buy a bite. something told me to put a 10" tt on, a bait that I never used to throw, and all the sudden I landed 6-7 fish in a 35-45 minute time span. Nick was having trouble getting a bite until he switched to something more eratic. that night I got 2 fish around 2lbs, one could have been less, but I also got a 5lber. I almost wish they made an even bigger trr after that night. Its definitely a fish catcher. Its bait bait that catches fish in a wide variety of circumstances. I really like the light and dark trout patterns. I just have confidence in em. I know they catch fish. Here is the 5 I got that night. Not a giant but maybe a little confidence booster
  17. i'll pull a not in this time. forgot 2 sign up. ill still go out there and try to stick em this week though!
  18. I have a new triple trout cut tail floater in light trout. I have two of these and don't need this guy. I am looking for hudds, and 10-12" triple trouts. Let me know what you have.
  19. I have some shads and a 6" trout for sale From top to bottom, the shads are fast sink, slow sink (Both have added suspend dots), and floating. the 6" trout is slow sink but it has 5 suspend dots on the botto, making it close 2 a fast sink All the baits except for the floaters were rigged with the velcro top hook like on the bbz i posted, but I took them off. Now there is a small amount of epoxy on the top of the baits. Its noticeable on the fast sink baits more. Id like to sell them as a lot for $50 firm. or I will trade for some hudds. Let me know!
  20. I have had these for a while. I will sell as a lot or one at a time. The guy I bought them from rigged them kinda weird. They have velcro on top where he rigs the hooks as u can see in the pics. i tried taking one off on one of the baits. They will come off, but leave a little bit of epoxy on the bait. I don't think the fish will care though. 3 of the trouts are fast sink (1 is a matte rainbow) There is a silverfish and a rainbow slow sink but he added a magnet to the bottom so they sink a bit quicker Then there is a floating rainbow The floater is basically new, the rest are used but in pretty good shape. The bottom 3 have a little paint scratched around the head, it looks like they were caused by fish. Make offers! I am also interested in hudds and 3:16 let me know what you have!
  21. Your spot sounds perfect. I would give the spot a small break then come back. On the second time around, try coming from a different angle, make sure to creep up on the spot so the fish don't know your there. Hopefully the second time, the fish are actively feeding and they hit your bait. I haven't had a lot of luck converting follows to strikes. (The speeding up technique has worked a few times for me)
