  1. Yea Brine is one of my fishing buddies from back when I got to go fishing. So ignore his review. It's as useful as a prostaffer review or one of these review websites where they ask for free baits to review.

In that case, I'd like a free bait to review. With hooks please.

  2. Ah, that makes sense. I've been checking this site out for a while so I will try to et more posts in. How does the duel trolling motor perform compare to one? Is there a reason you didnt get a 24v for the back?

I already had them on another boat. If budget wasnt a consideration, I'd have an electric outboard. Till then... The 2 work fine.

  3. Dan,

I've sent you a message with the link to my build. If you look at the top of this page, you should see "new messages" between "Forum" and "Members".

Click on "new messages" and that should take you there. FYI, when anyone makes a post to a topic, at the bottom of their post there are the words "PROFILE" and "PM". If you click on "PM", it will automatically direct you to a "personal message" addressed to that person with the title of the topic that was being discussed.

Hope that helps, and let me know if you have any questions about the build.

  4. So it's been 2 years, and I thought I'd follow up on my swimbait adventures since then. I still don't get to fish that often. :x Maybe 3 times a month. Most of this year's fishing was in a club and I didn't have the nerve (or the limit) to break out the swimbait as much as I would have liked. Any chance I've gotten to fun fish though, I do my best to sling it as long as I can stand it.

One piece of advice that I latched onto from the board was to choose a lure, and stick with it, and for the most part.... that's what I've done. Because it was my first swimbait fish, the HPH is that lure for me. I've since played with the osprey and hudd family, but I'm most confident with the HPH. 99% of the time, I'm running it at, or just below, the surface, so I've yet to really probe deep waters like I hope to in 2013.

I've yet to learn any 1 lake as much as I should either. Mostly because of time, but I also have quite a few small lakes to choose from and find myself keeping them in rotation. Anyway, although I don't post much here, I visit often and appreciate the words of wisdom. I find myself at the point where I really do want to get rid of 90% of my tackle and focus more on this, and if I decide to bow out of the tourneys next year, I probably will.

Because I don't post much.... I thought I'd make it a long one and make sure that the advice given from the board was recognized as appreciated. Here are some of the catches since.

    Thanks again,

    Brine

  5. That's a sweet rig man.

What kind I boat is that

Thanks for the compliment. It's an 84' 1642 Rhyan Craft mod-v. Originally a side console.

+1 great looking boat. How does it fish?

Fishes great for me. It was designed as an electric only tournament rig, and to handle me and my 2 young sons for fun fishing.

I'm wondering how many batteries, 4 ? Bet you can fish all day in that, looks stable too.

Yep, 4 AGM Batteries. The front 2 are wired parallel for the 12V bow motor, and 1 for each back motor plus all the accessories. It's plenty stable, but a bit tight on the front deck for someone who is 6'1" 250. That said, it probably runs a tad faster than a 48.

I spent about 2 years putting the boat/trailer together with what freetime I could manage. I have the entire build detailed out over on TinBoats. Not sure if I'm allowed to post the link here or not, so I won't, but if anyone's interested, shoot me a message and I'll send the link.

    Thanks again for the compliments.

  6. cool you need to get back on the tourny trail

Would like to, but the kids are at the age now where there is football, scouts, or soccer almost every Saturday, and I want to make sure they know they come first.

Fun fishing is okay with me.
