  1. I know Precision Tackle has 15 Mothers coming in the next few weeks. Herb told me "most colors" when I asked if he was getting any Albino. I'll shoot him a text about the perch. I know he's supposed to be on the water today so it may take a while to get a response. ***EDIT*** nevermind, he just replied. He IS getting perch.
  2. You'd be crazy. Well, unless you moved to Mass. They've got some hidden treasure largie fishing up there and Cape Cod is a striper paradise.

    buffs

The bottom line is that buffs protect you from the sun's rays. If this fashion trend gets people to wear them and in doing so, protect themselves from the sun's rays; then what's the harm? Of all the fads/trends, many of which are truly ridiculous, this one actually has a major benefit.
  4. X2. As an outsider with no dog in the hunt I will only add two things: 1) I bought two BullShads when they were first available (Gen 1?). I was not impressed. One swam on it's side and one didn't swim at all. Mike made it right, but I was soured on BullShads from that point forward and sold both replacement baits. 2) Randall, you seem like a decent dude, and you certainly have decent guys on here that have your back. Unfortunately, it does nothing for your reputation (IMO) when you continuously put Bucca on blast whenever somebody mentions BullShads. It's all been rehashed ad nauseam. I understand you're angry, but let it go, log off, get back to making baits, and let the chips land were they may. If the circumstances are indeed what you state, you have nothing to worry about; you will continue to make successful baits and Mike will falter. If the opposite is true; vice versa. Arguing about it online doesn't help anybody. Just my two cents. Not that anybody asked.
  5. As much as I love bass fishing, there is something about standing on a rockpile in the middle of the night casting to a rip where you know there is the potential for a true beast. Charlie, the maker of Choopy Lures, is a great friend of mine and we try to get together a few times a year. I take him largemouth fishing, he takes me striper fishing. I don't have any Van Staals, but it's always fun to dust off the Lami's.
  6. IMO the swbr956 has a faster taper, where the bbr966 is slower/more parabolic.
  7. The swbr956 is an excellent 8" hudd rod.

    Feb Best of the Best

The Donfather wins another? GROUNDHOG DAY!!! Congrats! Sincerely, Ned Ryerson PS: BING!!!
  9. Nice fish, everyone. Spot, did this thing spit up a wrench? "I saw one eat a rockin' chair once."
  10. Yes, the water company is well aware that the public wishes it was open. I've heard rumors that PA Fish & Game as even offered to "run" it for the water company. I wrote a letter to the local paper stating reasons why it should be open for public use. The water company couldn't care less. They continue to grow, gobbling up smaller water companies across the nation, while closing down public access to any water source/supply that becomes theirs. Oh well. Just thought I'd add my $.02 about trespassing.
  11. That's how I look at it too. What if the private property belongs to a corporation? Here it is, Springton Reservoir; 400 acres of untouched water full of largemouth and smallmouth with basically zero fishing pressure. It is 5 minutes from my house and completely off limits. No trespassing, fenced in where not blocked by homeowner properties, cctv cameras and security patrolling. It haunts me. There was a time when you could fish part of the reservoir but after 9/11 the water company that owns it completely shut it down. Am I tempted to tippy-toe in? Absolutely. Do I? No. It's just not worth it. Well, it might be worth it, but fishing while looking over my shoulder isn't my idea of fun.
  12. If the Super Purcell Bros are offering info, I'd listen.
  13. The 956 swbr was easily my favorite rod. I usually had a FS Perch tied on it. My only complaint was the handle length was a little short for my long arms. I made the switch to LDC and couldn't be happier, but the 956 swbr is a legit rod that throws a wide-range of baits.

  18. I spent some time yesterday straightening up my gear and realized that I have A LOT of baits. So, to keep myself entertained during yet another snow storm, I decided to have a giveaway. Attached is a picture of a fish I caught in November before the "polar vortex" unleashed its fury on half the nation. Guess the weight of the fish and you'll receive an assortment of soft plastic baits from yours truly. Guesses are to be in pounds and ounces. I will leave this open until 12-noon Eastern Standard Time Thursday, February 6th UNLESS somebody guesses the exact weight before then. Here's a hint: It's not a double digit. ***DISCLAIMER*** I posted this fish and its weight in a report on another local-based bass fishing forum. If you know the answer from seeing it posted on that site, please refrain from answering here. (I know there are couple guys that visit both - all are on the up and up - but I just had to throw it out there)
