Where is Judge Wapner when you need him. Hahahaha -Ali

We need to solve this before it becomes a problem. I would hate to see a tourney winning PB disqualified because of a silly rule. -Ali
-
Can't argue with that. Can we petition the SU Crew to remove the date rule then? Doesn't seem useful or needed specially since we can just put the start date to satisfy the requirement. It doesn't have much of a purpose other than to put the "internet police" on red-alert. -Ali

NorCalBass nailed it! That rule was for when you had to post within 24 hours of your catch. It is outdated now anyway and no longer needed. Obviously someone with the code posting within the tourney dates caught that fish within the regulation time. And don't give me this "Rulez is Rulez" business. I ain't buying it. Rules are there to keep people from cheating and the date rule has nothing to do with that and is thus superfluous. -Ali

Great analysis. I don't believe there was much there as far as grease or oil goes. When I took the reel apart, it was a bit greasy. Probably a trick to make it seem smoother. I did have to do a bit of cleanup but not too bad. The bushing under the tension knob was loaded with grease. The screws used were tiny and against a plastic frame, I can see how they'd strip out like that. I seem to put a lot of pressure on the handle when I grind fish in. Oh well Next on the list are the Okuma offerings. -Ali

I had my Lexa for a long time. At first it was great but then started squeaking. Further investigation revealed a bushing under the spool tension knob. Kinda poor so I upgraded to all ABEC 7s. That was great for a while until recently when the handle broke free from the reel itself. Might be a one-off issue but when I asked a few people I wasn't the only one to have this happen to them Pic below shows where the threads broke loose

Those are the only rods you do need, no one NEEDS an LDC. They may be nicer but an Okuma is cheap and will get the job done. Don isn't lying to anyone, he has no reason too. He could just give no input at all or stop posting the videos that show everyone who is smart enough to watch for it successful retrieves he uses with his 250's. I thought you were the same guy as the original post you quoted Names are too similar but great point. I am fairly religious about using scent. The one day I didn't use it this year, I ended up with a 42 lb limit and my biggest fish for the year. What does this anecdotal evidence tell you? Nothing. Other than maybe at least that day they didn't care. Maybe on most days they don't care. Or maybe I would have done better if I had stocked up on Smelly Jelly and had buttered up my baits. I guess we'll never know. One thing I can tell you is to not rub gasoline on your baits; it removes the paint. -Ali

jared kiernan - Swimbait underground doesn't mess around
Ali replied to nadinesmom's topic in The Underground
I had no idea he was the same scumbag on Western Bass (ripdlip) that has been ripping off people. Best thing is to contact his wife/mom and let them know what he's been up to. That should put a stop to all this. -Ali -
Love the scale. Absolutely awesome But... Luke V turned me onto the Mustad scale which is very accurate and super easy to cary around. It has given me the exact same weight as the Salter every time. For a third of the price, you can't go wrong -Ali

Damn, he came back and ripped off more people??? I feel lucky he only took me for $20 What a punk!!! Hope he gets his -Ali -
Super cool of you! The battery issue is very annoying Had I known, I would have waited also. The new price + $100 off would be a great deal. This shouldn't last long -Ali

The bigger slammers (bigger than 12") cast horribly and are tough to fish. They are great for trolling for big stripers and lake trout however. You need some speed on these things to get them to do their "slammer magic". I guess they may be OK as a wake bait but I like to fish wake baits slow and again, this is a fast moving waker. -Ali

Great guy to do business with. Quick communication and shipped the bait out quickly. Highly recommended. -Ali
