    I use scent randomly for 2 reasons. With wood baits especially my goto baits that are nice and rashed up I coat the exposed wood to help keep it from taking on water. I don't know if I'm helping or hurting the wood but that is mainly why, which leads me to number 2. Confidence, if I think I can get any kind of edge I am going to fish more confidently. I will believe in the bait, technique, spot on spot, etc. Negative thoughts and distractions are minimized and I focus more clearly on what I am targeting. In my day to day I juggle a ton of priorities as a GM. To go from that to singular focus is extremely difficult for me. Scents are another tool that help me get there.

    I fish mostly small under 200 acre backwoods ponds with a crawdad(cartopper). Very blessed to be on the water without another fisherman on the water, most of the time. The only thing that kills it for me is when I dump a big fish after a long stretch without a bite.

    Thought I'd do some old reading and came across this thread. I've never really put much time in with white baits if at all, just an old white spook. The idea that I think will possibly build some confidence for me next year is the predatory response to a weaker albino creature. Think "Albino alligator"
