1. Good questions: If you read this thread; you'll see "Favorite Times" are all over the place on the fishing clock. Thus, your answer to 1. Just go fishing. Regarding spots: Depends on which season that you're night fishing, but if it is Summer---for me, I pick the steepest breaks on that body of water. It can be walls/cliffs, cement-edges,steeper-slopes sharp breaks on flats, points, etc. Wether you move or not? I give most spots 3 to 5 casts---move on. If great area, come back---often. Baits? Go top, middle, bottom. However, I've cheated this system some nights by thowing just a top water because that was what I want to get bit on. I knew I was limiting maximum bites Hope this may help you. -R
2. I'm sure there would be floor space for ya My first time at Clear Lake. Super excited -Ali So cool!! I'm excited for ya, It's going to look even bigger in a boat LOL! "ALL PEOPLE bringing boats" don't froget cords/charges For recharging batteries. You can plug in on the docks in the marina if staying at http://www.konocti-vista-casino.com/hotel2.html Bring tie down ropes too for front and back. Store your tackle to where it's easy to cary to your room. +1, and: Remember your boat bumpers. Alot of guys haul water into marinas there; which can create large waves that causes docks to eat your boat's gel coats Clear Lake can be awesome in early-Summer! -R
3. Oh....no wonder I keep catch'n Crappie on those crappy swimbaits you sold me
4. February 2012 20lb bag at AC Pro AM http://www.anglerschoice.com/2012-pro-event1.htm
5. Maybe - but you can use extra paint on one side, or in strategic areas as needed, to get some of the crappy ones to run true James, the only "crappy swimbaits" I have----are the ones you sold to me Hope you're continually whack'n em in the deep wood -R
6. Hardcore Wrote: " ...that his baits are "the best" as he so claims. @ Mickey...why talk "ish" to a possible customer? And about his rep as a baitmaker....no one else talks about 3:16 baits on the other sites I'm on its only here that his baits are talked about so much " JCBass wrote: Hardcore, I gave you some props earlier for your bravado---even though not well placed. HOWEVER NOW, you are just plain STUPID about what you said above. How many swimbaits you know; that they CONSISTENTLY sell out within minutes of being available? I know of just one---3:16. And NO--you dork, it's not just this site Can there be any more CLEARER FACT than that---to tell you that; Mickey's customers says----3:16's are the best. Hello?!! Well maybe: Another fact that Mickey's baits; hold in value across his lines of baits----better than any baits out there. Hello man?!! So Mickey doesn't have to "say chit". His RESULTS say it loud and clear. But only can be heard and seen; by someone who isn't deaf nor blind. Hint So knowing the above FACTS. WHY in the world, would Mickey need to prove anything to a tire-kicker, no-cluer like you? Seriously, an honest question. And you must be a 6 year old, for me to just have to explain this to you -R
7. This thread's got unexpected funnies!
8. This thread is a losing battle man. We used to have a saying above the door to the locker room when I played football (no disrespect to anyone's beliefs): If you want your prayers answered, get off your knees and bust your ass. +1 Wayne! But Hardcore; you can choose to be the other 72%---right?!
9. Thank you Luke and Ali Time to go bug Brock -R
10. trav wrote: " Paint holds up great. Ive had no issues with paint, action or ROF " JCBass wrote: You guys are great , thank you for all your help here! Wow trav----those Huds are awesome! I did contact Brock last year, and he said he wasn't painting em anymore So back to the drawing board. -R
11. I agree 100%. I never had a problem with them, and they get bit well out here. I have at least one of every sink rate, 8" and recently 6". Love the 3:16's just don't throw them often enough cause I'm addicted to hudd's and we have some major trout eaters up here. +1,+1 However, Don is correct---the first batch of BBZ's, I had fin problems too. Yet, on a private lake I fish. All we have is 13 miles of shale razor-like rocks; that eats swimbaits---including my 3:16's, to no fault of the product. It not fun to be busting $200 baits each trip , even if Mickey's fix'n is awesome So I've been playing with BBZ's on just this particular lake, for fun fish'n. And thus, so far--so good. Getting bit ok and no bait breakage! But would I throw BBZ in tourney or practice? NO. I'll go to my TRUSTED 3:16's -R
12. Tell Ken you will give him a million bucks im sure hell hook you up,swipe the black card my man! Why's it always gotta be black? Thank you guys. Jfish almost died of paint fumes on his Huds so no go there. But I'm excited to fish his new gil though---cool bait Still looking for a Hud painter -R
13. Anyone who does great paint work on Huds, please PM me. Thanks. -R
14. HAHA! No I don't drop shot. Swimbaits saved me from that. I just started doing it when I started swimbaiting and got saved LMAO!! I tried a SNELLING knot too for drop shoting back then. I was just not a fan of the Palomar. Thanks man, and yes, feeling better
15. See, I try to avoid the clinch on fluoro just because of the amount of friction when pulling the knot down (even after slobbering on it). I go Palomar with fluoro, although admittedly I dont fish fluoro with my big stuff. Don, have you ever tried the Arbor knot to tie to a reel? Quick and easy, just a suggestoin. No I have not. If you have trouble with a clinch you maybe using to many raps. 4 to 5 are plenty. 6 or more tend to not slide as well at times. 20 lb 5 raps. 25 or 30# 4 or 4 and 1/2 raps Right on +1
16. Sorry for the thread jack but this is starting to get monotonous. Besides, the man posted pics of swimbait fish so he's better than 99.9% of the guys that show up here and start talking smack... Anyway, as far as test driving cars, a buddy of mine is a Marin County Sherrifs deputy. He called me a few weeks ago from a call he was on. Apparently someone got a little too excited about their Ferrari test drive and drove the California Ferrari into the SF Bay. They made it about 300 yards past the dealership before they did this: -Ali Ali, maybe that was Mark Zuckerberg's car! Did they find his body? BTW, how you like my calculation a month ago (when FB was $36); that it would be at $25 per share "soon"?? Last week...$25.40 Hope you shorted it! Speaking of Ferrari's: Another one just set the world's highrest price again: Craig McCaw's $35 million purchase. Gotta love the crazy and talented designers like Enzo and Mickey! -Richard
17. Spoken like a true old school veteran. This is all I use also....(palomar when I've tried braid). Good thread, I'm going to have to try some of these others so long as I can understand how to tie the damn thing. I should have said everything when it comes to swimbaits. I mean IF I were to dropshot I would then use the Palomar . I use the SD Jam to tie to new reels. Don----you dropshot?! Well, I can see with 10" worms Actually, after seeing extensive tests on palamar, I would do San Diego for dropshott'n too. Hope you're feeling better man! -R
18. First, even stupid bravado is to be applauded---somewhat Second, as you even admitted, Mickey's baits are long sought after; so wouldn't it be commonsense to you that he and his baits are way beyond needing to accept your "challenge"? It's like you've got me cracking up ,picturing a duck (You) trying to call out a lion. Not an intelligent move man -R
