Good question Nufo I'm blessed to lead and be a part of a couple of men's ministires, and your question comes up often. My answer regarding "curse or not"? A: Depends if we serve thru loving others. In my walk, I've realized that God gives us passions such as bass'n... We follow Jesus (or not), by choosing bass'n for our egos--NOT. Or, choosing it to connect with Him and others---YES. That connection isn't perfect (as this thread proves ) Jesus was Perfect, yet 2/3rds of this world don't get Him. Yet, this bass'n has allowed me to help others come to Christ. Has made me great friends thru thick-cheddar or thin-cheese What I do know for sure? Is that ALL of us fall short of His glory. Romans 3:3 So praise Him for His grace upon us all! -R

Don, your results speak for itself It shocks me that most guys still don't even know what is structure vs cover vs soft cover---much less knowing proper graph reading. The best of graphs (I have HDS-10 and LDX 113) have at least a 8" blind spot to the botom----big enough to hide a very big bass. As well, at depths of 30 ft+. A regular graph gets maybe 25ft circumference; not nearly wide-enough to encompass a large structure like a flat or large point. Thus, Bass Pro must pull head out. Don is right on---must match the rod to your type of line. And I might add---how your own hook setting power is. Your question may be better served with a personalized answer vs generalized. . My fishing mentor (a former quarter back) use to break seats on his Ranger boat setting hooks. Once, he fell off the otherside He's no dufus. He owns the San Diego WON Bass records for over 20 yrs. The right rod for him, would be different for most guys, incuding me. Note: Even braid has different properties than another. Some braids sinks faster, some slower. That brings to questions of technique for that rod. Top,mid, bottom? With all these tools these days. We don't have to generalize. We can personalize -R
