  3. Thanks Matt! Never really dead sticked a bait so that is new. I've heard people say they walk the bait so that's what I was trying to do. Thanks for the reply. You can technically walk the dog, but it's not what you think. Did you get the 2-piece deadtwitch or the single piece?
  4. Yes. The top three hudds on the left are 68 weedless ROF5.

  9. Here's my opinion on both baits then. I have a few of the roman made negotiator and the gan craft jointed claw 178. In regards to action, the gan craft swims similar to the river2sea s-waver with a soft glide without much joint action. The negotiator, on the other hand, has a more aggressive glide. Now, onto the sink rate. The negotiator is an extremely slow sinking bait. It's great if you really want a bait that stays near the surface. The jointed claw sinks faster and is great if you like to fish deeper. I hope this helps. My favorite glide bait of all is still the Deps slide swimmer 250 as it just glides better than most of the other baits out there and it gets bit also.
  10. I've been using CXX for quite some time now and I've got to say I really really like the line. As far as the knot goes, I, myself, use the san diego jam knot with 5 or 6 turns and I've never had the knot fail me at all. I'm running 25lb cxx for the 4-10oz baits and 20lb cxx for 1-3oz baits. I'd say you should check your knot occasionally. As far as your line snapping on the cast, I have no idea why that is happening. You may get line abrasion somewhere and you didn't check it. What I usually do is cut about 3 feet or so of line off my spool in case there was any abrasion that I did not feel from running my hands up and down the line. I hope this helps. Don't give up on cxx yet, it's a really good line. I prefer it over yo-zuri hybrid now.
  11. what model calcutta are you looking for? I've got a calcutta 200D in great condition if you're interested.
  12. I'm looking to sell my Big Bass Dreams DVD. I only watched it once and am looking to sell it for $35 shipped.
  13. During this summer heat, the best option would be the early morning and late evening. As the sun comes up and the lake gets real bright, the fish go into the grass and ambush prey from there. I'd recommend you throw something like the river2sea s-waver above the grass and it should entice the fish. If not, pay attention to the size of the baitfish you see as you're fishing. Sometimes, the bass get so keyed in on these smaller fish that it's hard to throw a bigger bait at them. My favorite bait for this time is usually a basstrix hollow belly swimbait. Anyways, this is just my input. I'm sure other guys will chime in on this.
  14. Like the title says, I'm looking to sell off some of my huddleston swimbaits. I will do my best to describe the conditions of the baits in the pictures, but please feel free to message me if you want any clarification. Here's what I have for sale: 1st picture: two 8" weedless hudd ROF5 (rainbow trout and holdover trout color) and 1 68 hudd ROF5 in rainbow trout. I want $40 shipped for each of the 8" weedless and $37 shipped for the hudd 68. 2nd picture: three 8" hudd ROF5 in rainbow trout. Two have been thrown some and one is bnib. Please note that the two hudds out of the package DO NOT have a hook. You will have to rig it yourself depending on which method you like. I want to sell the two used ones for $22 shipped each and the bnib for $25 shipped. 3rd picture: three 8" hudd ROF12 in rainbow trout. Two have been thrown as well and one is bnib. The top-most hudd is rigged with a size 2 owner treble hook while the bottom two have the original jig hook. I want to sell the two used ones for $22 each shipped and the bnib for $25 shipped.
  15. Why doesn't everyone buy the injected ones if the wood ones break so easy? The difference is the material. The wood one is silent as opposed to the injected ones. I know that you can modify the injected ones to make them silent by drilling the bait and supergluing the internal rattles. Other than that, the wooden ones have a longer glide that seems to trigger more bites at least for me. I sold all of my injected ones and only throw the wooden ones now.
  16. My vote goes for the slide swimmer. IMO it's one of the best drawing baits out there. The only downside to the 3:16 wake bait is that you can't fish it subsurface, but it still calls out the fish. I've caught quite a few fish on the slide swimmer and you can fish it in all parts of the water column. So, in other words, get the slide swimmer for its versatility and fish calling ability.
  17. Check out Anglers Marine as they are located in Anaheim. Might be a bit of a drive for you but if you don't want to drive then just hit up Tacklewarehouse and put in an order. Plus you can pick up some swimbaits while you're at it.
  18. I don't think these baits work at all, but the fish don't seem to agree. These baits do work like most swimbaits. It's a look the fish aren't accustomed to and that's why when they get bit, they get DESTROYED.
  19. beezy

    Been a while

awesome catch on that baitsmith trout swimbait.
  20. How's that for a birthday present. Congrats.
  21. Get yourself the hudd 68 if you can as well as some 8" ones in ROF5. I always stick to the rainbow trout as it gives me the most confidence. You can also do mods to your baits such as making gills to provoke more realism in the baits and things like that.
