  1.

    what are you hiding? ;)

The one on the left is a realprey baby bass in a custom paintscheme.

The one on the right is a bait I'm not at liberty to disclose the identity of.

My apologies for posting pics like that, but I'm out of town, and those two (already doctored) were the only pics I could find on my laptop. Otherwise, I'd have taken and posted a better pic.

    Thanks,

  2. thanks for the kind words. yeah, i definitely like swimbaits, but honestly it's all rewarding to me. i don't usually fish for any sort of reward other than the best reward of all - just being fortunate enough to be out there. when it comes to fishing, i ask myself three questions - (1) is it legal? (2) can it produce in the given situation? and (3) is it a method i enjoy? if the answer to all of those 3 questions is yes, then i will roll with it. if the answer to even one of those questions is no, then i won't. i guess i am somewhat simple-minded when it comes to fishing. i try not to overthink it and diminish my chances for success with ridiculous, ego-based, self-imposed constraints. if i catch a big fish on a live bait, then i don't regard it as any more or less of an accomplishment than on a swimbait or anything else. i am just thankful for being able to catch it. call me crazy.

You, sir, have my respect. Glad to see someone else who thinks like I do. As long as it's legal (and sporting), and has a chance of producing trophy fish, I try it. Stitching, bed-fishing, live nightcrawlers, jigs, and swimbaits- I fish them all!

    Congratulations!

P.S. Sorry for the off-topic comment. Let's get back to talking about swimbaiting.

  3. Deep you caught this fish? It's more like a tribute to speed??

    Yes, and yes.

There are quite a few people who knowingly, or unknowingly, have contributed a fair bit to my swimbaiting knowledge base.

    Speed is one of them.

Fish weighed 7 lbs 12 ozs.

** fifth fish over 7 lbs for this year, all on 8" ROF5 hudds (2X hitch, 3X rainbow).

  6. I wouldn't waste to much time with the bait pimps that send private info!!!

I'm assuming that was directed at me? :o Typed out a long response, and then figured that I was PM-ing him, instead of posting.

FYI, these were the baits mentioned in the PM:

baby wake, wake jr, slammers, AC minnows, BBZ, Rago tool, Triple trout (floating and sinking), Matt's hardgill and hardbass, 8" FS trout, nezumma rat. All the baits I have had personal experience with.

@biged, feel free to copy-paste the entire thing if the big man needs more assurance that I wasn't talking ill of his baits or peddling knock-offs
