Been playing acoustic for 3 years. Wish I would have started a long time ago. I have a Taylor 110 and a 1979 Martin D-18. Those things can be as addictive as Fishing Stuff!! I play while I make lures. There’s a Guitar Center here in New Orleans near my work. Tons of killer guitars and you can just go in and play them. I was shocked to learn that. Pretty cool.

I’ve caught bass on solid white unpainted plastic and unpainted wood jointed swimbaits. It works. Looks kinda sad tho. i took that idea and simply added silver back and scales with a light olive over the back. Then clear. Pretty minimal paint scheme, but looks good. Especially Pearl white. maybe a bright white with bone scales. Yeah! youre right. Bone ain’t nothing more than antique white. Haha.

Once fishing with a guide in Lake Kissimmee, we had another boat approaching us. From a distance we could make out that a long blonde haired woman with an enormous rack was running the trolling motor. Our guide said “ watch this, they’re coming over here, that’s a fishing guide”. As the boat got close, the chick yelled out to our guide. Sounded like Hulk Hogan with female accoutrements. The chick fishing guide was a drag queen. This was over 15 yrs ago and was still quite an unusual site on a bass trip!!

Thanks. All are made of foam with molded plastic heads for hunting purposes. Carve a master head and mold copies. Sound familiar ? Fun to get birds over your own decoys. Just like baits. Thought there might be others on the site who do this.

Any waterfowlers on here? Been duck hunting since age 10..that makes 39 years. Doh!! Getting old. Guided hunts for 25 years in Delacroix Island, LA. started making my own decoys 10 yrs ago. This teal is in my truck as I go to donate it to the New Orleans DU Chapter for the live auction tonight. It’s a stick up decoy. Hate to see her go.

Probably the same blank as the 8’ Zillion swimbait rod. SVF graphite. Plus the Steez has titanium guides. My Zillion casts lures up 3oz well. I’ve caught a ton of fish on jointed and s glide swim baits with that rod. It’s a Ned/hvy action. Zillion rods are now discontinued. Now there is a set of swimbait rods within a new line called Kage- same blanks (SVF )as the Zillion. Might be worth a try.

I want it for 1-5 oz stuff. Sounds good.

Man, congrats on the fish and congrats on the new son on the way. Also congrats on the cool weather. Water temp today was 83 down here. Need some cooler temps. Send um my way. I would love to be wearing a Cousin Eddie hat right about now. I've not heard of that bait either.

Looks like Balsa to me. If so, better use long screws and lots of epoxy. bait looks cool.

Looks great. Really nice transparent paint. I like how the wood shows thru. I would not have thought to do that. Definitely like it.

We can keep one over 27” per person. 5 fish limit. If you get the limit on topwater, you had Shurely got several blow ups to get it. They miss a lot.
